Abbas Wahab is a Canadian comedian and actor. He’s been featured on Just For Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy, and Edinburgh Fringe festivals and is a regular on CBC’s The Debaters. Wahab has appeared in such TV shows as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Boys, What We Do In The Shadows, and The Handmaid’s Tale. Abbas is also the creator and host of The Immigrant Section Podcast, a weekly comedy show showcasing Canada’s rising talents. He has garnered a loyal online following of over 80k users on Instagram and 200k on TikTok. He’s most well known for his viral “job interview” series, which parodies the hiring process of popular jobs and companies.

Featuring

Jordan Policicchio is one of Canada’s fastest-rising talents. In a few short years, he’s opened for Che Durena at New York Comedy Club and been part of the Just For Laughs 42 festival. He’s also a regular Yuk Yuks and recently made part of their rising stars roster. His lightning-quick wit and dry delivery make him obnoxiously relatable and extremely fun to watch.

Does your group chat feel like the blind leading the blind? Have you spent your life savings on three therapy sessions but still compulsively date virgos?
Better Than Your Therapist (BTYT) is a safe space live comedy panel where audience members submit their most pressing worries to a panel of (unqualified but self important) comedians.

We’re talking relationships, s*x, kinks, first dates, breakups, situationships- across all genders and orientations. You name it, we have partially helpful advice for it.

Consenting audience members will place their names in a bowl at the beginning of each show. The show runs under a five round structure. Each round, one audience member will be selected to come onstage and present their dilemma.

Jesse Singh
Jesse Singh has quickly made himself a household name in Toronto’s comedy scene. He has been featured on some of the most renowned stages of Canadian comedy such as being part of the JFL Toronto festival in 2022, CBC’s Accent on Toronto and performing at the legendary Nubian Night at Yuk Yuk’s. In 2019, he was a finalist in the NYC’s 2019 Devil Cup Comedy festival, and earlier this year, he released his debut comedy album - “Baby Goat”.
George Rivard
George was adopted from Sierra Leone by Canadian parents and was raised in the Yukon in a community of 25,000 people. Facing adversity as a young black child in a small community, comedy and entertainment became his primary calling. George has recently recorded with Just for Laughs Originals, and Underground Comedy Railroad for Comedy Records. Relatable, outgoing, and unapologetically Canadian! Yukon REPRESENT!
Hershawn Arora
Hershawn Arora is one of Toronto’s brightest young comics. His high-energy style, cerebral crowd work, and vulnerable material set him apart from his peers. This year, Hershawn was named an International Roast Battle™ All-Star and made his Just For Laughs Toronto debut by recording with Just For Laughs Originals. With a loyal online following that is rising in numbers, he has sold out his last eight independently produced shows. A fan-favourite at nearly all Toronto comedy clubs and a regular at the world-famous Your Hood’s a Joke, Hershawn has been recognized as one of the most promising acts in the city and has no intention of slowing down.
