SpinDrift Street is the newest musical project for Garth Bowen, Randy Shepherd and Charlie Veaudry. These 3 local Sechelt musicians have all performed internationally for many years. Garth sings lead and harmony and plays fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Randy plays bass and sings lead and harmony and Charlie plays guitar and sings lead and harmony. Their voices are a rich blend delivering tight vocal

harmonies supported by the lively rhythms from their various instruments. You will hear them perform many old favourites from the Eagles, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson and many other of the well known musical artists that we loved listening to over the years.Come and check out their next show. SpinDrift Street will entertain you with their new musical blend of some well known songs and a few originals, too.

JONI MITCHELL’S old house on Lookout Mountain Avenue as it appears today.

Joni Mitchell’s little blue house in Laurel Canyon was the hub of the West Coast music scene in the late 1960s. Graham Nash of The Hollies, Stephen Stills of Buffalo Springfield, and David Crosby of The Byrds found their unique three-way harmony blend here during all-day jam sessions in July 1968 that led directly to the formation of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Nash, who lived here for a while with Joni (and “two cats in the yard”) immortalized this “very, very, very fine house” in 1969 when he penned the CSNY hit “Our House” on her piano. Most Joni fans know that she wrote her 1970 album Ladies of the Canyon here, as well as some of the songs for her 1971 follow-up Blue. But you may not have known that she still owns the house and rents it out!

Our Story

Virgil Caine is the newest musical project for James Taylor and Charlie Veaudry. James and Charlie first met more than 10 years ago at neighbourhood jams with other musical friends. Over the years these jam sessions developed into a keen interest to explore a blend of their musical styles. Both are intrigued to delve into what happens when you take a contemporary, rock/jazz/blues electric lead guitar and play it over top of the solid rhythm style of a country/folk/bluegrass guitar. Throw in some vocal harmonies and it sounds like even more fun! Coming from almost 10 years with The Goods, James is always keen to investigate some new sounds. Charlie who spent almost 20 years on and off touring and playing locally with Canadian Whitewater Bluegrass Band is also looking forward to digging in to some fresh sounds. Come and check out their next show. James and Charlie will intrigue you with their new musical blend of some well known covers. You might even hear some originals.
