Weird things are coming to the Squamish Artwalk! Like a new mural by Liesl Petersen to be created live during the event. This beautiful and edgy rainbow hug is titled "Embrace Weird" and will hopefully be an emblem for the entire neighbourhood. July 29th and 30th from 12:00 to 5:00, interactive sound sculptures, mural painting, kids sticker creation and community sticker mural, Drum workshops and more. From 5:00 to 10:00 Afterparty with S.W.A.R.M performing excerpts from the summer drum workshops. The Sounds Good Collective featuring DJ's Ethan, Amy, Coner and Ruben on the 29th and DJ Vinyl Richie & DJ Foxy Moron on the 30th. 37710 Third Ave. Squamish.

Drum Workshops continuing every Tuesday all through July! Come by and learn some action drumming to perform at the Artwalk. This week after an open kids play time we will work on a Steve Reichian piece in shifting time signatures on tuned rubber tubes and then on to swing drum dancing. Leaping from drum to drum playing swing rhythms with a West side Story style drum exchange. Open jam at the end. Every Tuesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at 37710 Third Ave. Squamish (the Cargo house).

Drum workshops every Tuesday night in June, 7:00 to 9:00. 37710 Third Ave. (the cargo house). This week rudiments with 2/3, 3/4 and 3/5 time signatures on tuned rubber tubes. Basics of Taiko technique and movements with paradiddles. "Squaredrumdancing" jumping from drum to drum in a square drum quadrent with swing rhythms. The big drum circle broken into three sections with changing overlapping rhythms same as always and a freeform open jam at the end.

Squamish Art day. Funded by Small Neighbourhood Grants. Saturday June 17. 12:00 to 5:00 there will be interactive musical sculptures, mural painting, drum workshops and free hotdogs and veggie dogs. 5:00 to 10:00 there will be DJ's and dancing. Come on by for this free community event for people of all ages. The Cargo house, 37710 Third Ave. Squamish.

It's finally happening! Our first community event! Come one come all. There will be tuned rubber tube musical sculptures that you can bash with sticks, Longstrings that you play with rosined gloves, curved spine marimbas and a giant industrial drum circle that everyone can play.
