Well I am a little embarrassed to post this but I hope it helps others. I was called back to work by an employee Friday at 4:45pm. She received a call stating Entegrus was going to cut off my hydro in an hour and I needed to call. I rushed in, called the number I was given. There was an Entegrus answering message, I spoke to 3 different people trying to figure out what was going on. All my bills are paid automatically. Apparently I got a new meter in April but I never received a bill for it, though they sent it numerous times. I asked to email me the bill and I will pay now. But of course my account was locked so they could not email me until it was paid. That was a red flag. Then they transferred me to legal and he got my price down from 1350 to 800 if I e-transferred now. I said I will pay it through online banking but was told that takes 6 hours to post and they only had half an hour before my hydro would be turned off. I had a cooler full of wedding flowers and was panicked. I was on online banking ready to pay. He then gave me the email to transfer to and it was an aol account. I then realized it was a scam. I was on the phone for over an hour, my husband was here with me and we had it mostly on speaker phone. During the whole thing we were both thinking it was legit. I always shake my head at how many people get scammed but it was all so professional until they got down to the email to send money. I still think if it would of been an entegrus email I probably would of sent the money.
Sorry for the long post. I have called the police and gave them the info and I will be calling Entegrus monday morning. I did try calling the number back this morning and it now says BC hydro so they moved on. Be safe out there people and follow your gut!
