We're having such an incredible time with the brilliant team at the Ontario Securities Commission. Today’s beautifully planned virtual conference has been so informative, inspiring and insightful.

And how spectacular is this setup? With multiple stages through the venue we hosted moderators for live sessions (with remote guests streaming in) as well as keynotes and commentary all day long.

We loved hearing opening remarks from Ontario Minister of Finance . The panel sessions kicked off with the always perceptive exploring current leadership perspectives. Wendy Berman did a marvellous job hosting a panel on rebuilding the economy. And the brilliant Tim Moseley was an effortless moderator connecting the entire day’s experience.

We also had a great time in our first partnership with .

Thank you so much for allowing and the to be part of your important day!

How much do we love working on special projects with this dynamic duo of corporate events planning?
has been making so much virtual magic these days - and we just loved being part of a recent corporate project.

These ladies are often the first in line to try out something new – and how are we not surprised that their event was the one that had the debut recording on our presentation stage?

Have you pivoted your fundraiser to a virtual gala? Over the next few months, we look forward to participating in wonderful online events from home.

We’re also seeing that our partners are looking for a more professional environment, top quality streaming and the ability to rely on a great team to ensure the event goes off splendidly.

An evening full of incredible Canadian comic talent, host Steve Patterson hosted ‘Comedy from the Couch’ live on location while weaving guests steaming in from home, pre-recorded comedy acts and championed a digital auction and donation campaign. Relentless creativity and determination have produced so many unforgettable moments.
We’ve experienced so much creativity week after week with so many people having to change plans after plans after plans.
And, in light of these many challenges - and perhaps even because of them – there is still much joy and many magical moments.

This week’s theme is .

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a stunning outdoor ceremony for just 10 guests.
Everyone was determined to make the day as unforgettable as possible – despite having to change some of the previous plans.

Bride Alexandra had a special creative secret up her sleeve – a special version of the Groom’s favourite show’s theme.

When she appeared and the opening chords from ‘The Office’ played – the look on Jeff’s face and the tears in his eyes were priceless.

Attending a wedding celebration right now is certainly an unforgettable experience, for so many reasons!

Everyone involved goes through so many special efforts to gather safely with the people we love.

This may be a rare time to see friends and family face to face – and it’s so emotional to realize our deep love and need to be together in person.

Many brides and grooms have gone through a roller-coaster as they’ve planned, booked new dates (sometimes more than once!). Your strength and determination is truly awesome and we really applaud all the couples who are on this journey right now!

And we have seen - our vendors, partners, suppliers and the staff at venues across the city – each week they come up with new ways to make sure these special days are so remarkable in light of the precautions that do inevitably make a micro just a bit different than a normal celebration.

But with great certainty – we will remember these moments of uniqueness for a lifetime!

What have you encountered at all things this summer and fall?
Post and tag to share this week – and will feature our faves in our stories for week 4!

Sometimes it’s a special surprise element, or an unexpected guest appearance.

In the case of Carly and Noah – it was the most glorious pink sunset we have ever seen. , a Toronto-based fashion and beauty writer, along with her fiancée Noah, and their planner , had an beautiful vision for an intimate outdoor dinner on the terrace. The overcast day and threat of rain meant they had to move dinner inside – and the back up plan after backup plan paid off when the transition indoors was oh so smooth! But this turn in the weather ALSO meant the couple and their guests were treated to deepest most epic pink sky for these jaw dropping photos – absolutely a magical moment we will forever think of as iconic of their special day. Could Virtual Events be any more in fashion?

We applaud all the planners across the events industry - the immense creativity of manoeuvring to transform live event into for experiences for home viewing.

The team at Strategic Objectives is got this game down – they brilliantly pivoted to transform the annual Cashmere Fashion show into an exceptional virtual event. On top of every detail, , Amanda, Derek and Natalie are rock stars - a true virtual event dream team!

Our venue became the perfect setting for a gorgeous runway for the impeccable and inventive dresses fashioned out of bathroom tissue by Canada’s top designers. And – it was so easy to keep everyone clean and safe – lots of room, fresh air, and easy protocols to follow, the event moved like clockwork. Perfect individually boxed breakfast and lunch for the physically distanced break area by the kept the team nourished all day long. AV and staging by and custom vinyl by was spot on.

Monday, October 5th at 6 pm, on CTV The Social’s page, you can watch the 17th Annual Cashmere Collection: Masquerade Ball – staring 15 leading Canadian designers and their Vision of a Future without Breast Cancer. Hosted by , host and . This event kicks off October Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Cashmere’s annual fund- and awareness-raising efforts.

A The Globe and Mail Centre – virtual events are totally our favourite .

Who’s ready for a Friday cocktail? While we’re wrapping week 2 of – we can’t help but toast all the beautiful mini events celebrating love and life (while keeping things clean, safe and distant) across our city and beyond. We loved being tantalized by all the “Sensational Sips” - offering a moment of bliss at near and far. What a gorgeous week!

We’re now kicking off week 3 with the theme of “skies and sunsets” – those perfect backdrops that bring even more magic to micro wedding moments outdoors.

Do you have a photo that shows the perfect marriage of nature + nurture? Of sunsets + stunning décor? Tag and we would love to share!

Our hearts filled when the skies opened and a sun shower sparkled as L&A exchanged heartfelt vows beneath a rainbow sky – it was absolutely a moment to remember. We’ve heard a little rain is good luck on a wedding day – and this rain was just dazzling. After a gorgeous ceremony filled with florals, family and friends enjoyed a delicious dinner reception catered by the talented team, while friends and family joined from afar via streaming by . What a night of joy and celebration!

Or, the Super Chilled Bourbon Julep, with bourbon, maple, lemon and chamomile gel, Madeira, star anise syrup, orange zest, rosemary brunoise.

So much love and thanks for all of the shares for week 1 of !

Our theme for the first week was . We have been so inspired by so many gorgeous floral designs gracing all the micro weddings this week. There is so much talent in our local floral scene and we are so lucky to get to see and experience all this beauty!

The trusted partners of so many of our planners and local venues we all know and love the transformative effect of flowers, especially at a wedding.
If you’re also hoping to bring a little magic to your own home, many of these florists are doing custom orders.
It’s a great way to support our local talent through these challenging times.

A big shout out of love and admiration to the florists for ALL the micro weddings including
Opening Night Flowers -
Jackie O - .events
Blush and Bloom
Rachel Clingen
Exquisite Occasions
Frank Rea Event Designs
Deborah Lau Yu
Stemz Flowers @ stemzflowers
Joey Butta / White Oak Flower
Bellwood Blooms
Evy Rose Design Co
Luxe Soiree
Nymph Floral (who is doing an AMAZING job today at the .ca!)
Plus many many more out there working so hard across on so many gorgeous designs!

A special note of appreciation to the florist Jackie O at our very first micro wedding – this orchid Chuppah was spectacular and was just such a wonderful compliment to welcome weddings back to the space. We just love and adore the combo of the clean plexi lines with the breathtaking volume of white orchid florals at Melissa and David’s beautiful ceremony. That was a day. Brené Brown recently did a podcast about the roller coaster this fall was going to be. On September 2 that kind of made sense. And now - ohhhh yes..... this is going to be a season filled ups and downs.

The high of being on day two of a fantastic corporate hybrid event was so moving. Our space IS really well set up for giant tables surrounded by views and screens and it was pretty magical to see group hosting international business conversations supported by exceptionally professional planners - and technicians and supporters all being so seamlessly clean. All over every detail and spraying down furniture, surfaces, trays and products like we’re going to host elective dental surgeries. Hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes, masks - it’s all becoming second nature in the routine - and the rest of it all felt just so blissfully normal. Purposeful. And to look people in the eyes and connect and chat was the best.

But the stress of the pending announcement was unreal. Our weddings and meetings and events (finally!) in the balance. We were facing going backwards - and I didn’t realize how much the momentum of slowly building back to gathering again despite so many challenges and all the heartbreaks was giving me a HOPE that I desperately needed.

But while I was biting my fingernails to the quick, the messages from you all through the morning, made with register that we are really in this together in a whole new way. It was a hundred virtual hand squeezes as we all told each other we will get through this no matter what happens in the announcement. Venues, planners, vendors - were all partners in this and yesterday I felt it when I needed it most.

And then it was good news - and there was some major recognition that for all the new rules and procedures and headaches - it is what makes a professionally staffed venue a safer place. Night and day. And that relief that we get to proceed was so huge.

The day finished with one of our Globe staff teams having casual drinks on the terrace. Laughs. The impromptu stories. Voices and smiles. This is the workplace I love. I miss you all so much.
