Election to the Country Music Hall of Fame is country music's highest honor, and member-elect Tanya Tucker will be inducted on Sunday, October 22.

A hit recording artist at age thirteen, a “Rolling Stone” cover story at fifteen, and a millionaire at sixteen, Texas-born Tanya Tucker has been a resilient and high-spirited presence within country music for more than fifty years. Powered by her strong, husky voice and her often adult-themed songs (“Delta Dawn,” “Blood Red and Going Down”), she landed six #1 records before she turned eighteen. From 1986 to 1997, Tucker scored twenty-four Top Ten country hits.

In 2019, she experienced a dramatic career resurgence after she began working with fellow musicians and admirers Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings. The pair co-produced the album “While I’m Livin’,” which won Tucker two Grammys—the first of her career. Earlier this year, Tucker released a second album co-produced by Carlile and Jennings, “Sweet Western Sound.”

Tucker’s influence as a song stylist and as a strong, independent role model for women artists in country music continues to become more apparent as the years go by. As Carlile has said, “There would be no Miranda, no Brandi, no Gretchen, no Maren without Tanya Tucker.”

"The question is does he really believe it or is he just pandering to people, and will he pivot again if he becomes prime minister," Bratt said.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has been hitting the summer barbecue circuit with ramped-up rhetoric around debunked claims that the World Economic Forum is attempting to impose its agenda on sovereign governments.

Actor, film director, film producer and musician Keanu Charles Reeves (Keanu Charles Reeves), missed the first 20 minutes of the party dedicated to the end of filming of his new film in one of the clubs in New York.

He waited patiently in the rain to be let in.

No one recognized him.

The club owner said: "I didn't even know Keanu was standing in the rain waiting to be let in - he didn't say anything to anyone."

"He travels by public transport".

"He easily communicates with homeless people on the street and helps them".

- He is only 56 years old (September 2, 1964)
- He can just eat a hot dog in the park, sitting between ordinary people.

- After filming one of the "Matrix", he gave all the stuntmen a new motorcycle - in recognition of their skill.

- He gave up most of the fee for the salaries of costume designers and computer scientists who draw special effects in "The Matrix" - decided that their share of participation in the budget of the film was underestimated.

- He reduced his fee in the film The Devil's Advocate" to have enough money to invite Al Pacino.

- Almost at the same time his best friend died; his girlfriend lost a child and soon died in a car accident, and his sister fell ill with leukemia.

Keanu did not break: he donated $ 5 million to the clinic that treated his sister, refused to shoot (to be with her), and created the Leukemia Foundation, donating significant sums from each fee for the film.

“In the mid-'60s, AM radio, pop radio, was just this incredible thing that played all kinds of music... You could hear Frank Sinatra right into the Yardbirds. The Beatles into Dean Martin. It was this amazing thing, and I miss it, in a way, because music has become so compartmentalized now, but in those days, it was all right in one spot.”

We lost the beautiful, brilliant lyricist Cynthia Weil Mann.
The quartet of young songwriters in the image includes (left to right) her husband and cowriter, Barry Mann, Cynthia, my then-husband and cowriter, Gerry Goffin, and me at a BMI dinner in 1962. The four of us were close, caring friends despite our fierce competition to write the next hit for an artist with a #1 song. Sometimes we wrote in different combinations, e.g., Mann and Goffin “Who Put The Bomp?” and King and Weil “One To One.” Cynthia’s high professional standard made us all better songwriters. My favorite Cynthia lyric is, “Just a little lovin’ early in the mornin' beats a cup of coffee for startin' out the day.” If we’re lucky, we know this is true, but she wrote it—and then she rhymed “mornin’" with “yawnin'" in the next verse. May the legacy of lyrics by Cynthia Weil continue to speak to and for generations to come. Rest in peace with love and gratitude.

The Ireland/England/Scotland leg of the Just Like That... Tour is off to a terrific start! Bonnie is so grateful for this rave review in The Guardian but wants to also acknowledge the crucial contributions to the success of these shows from her stellar band and crew. Knocking it out of the park every night is her longtime rhythm section, James "Hutch" Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums); new members Glenn Patscha (keys), Duke Levine (guitars), all of them singing backup as well. Equally brilliant are her sound and light team, aided by an incomparable stage and production crew. Not for a moment does she feel she got here by herself.

Hope you can catch one of the next seven shows (including Bonnie's only festival appearance in England at Black Deer Festival in Kent on June 17th!) -- BRHQ

It was a real thrill for me to get the chance to speak with one of my musical heroes for the latest episode of the Podcast.

For over 30 years, Russell deCarle acted as bass player & lead vocalist of Canadian Country Music Hall of Famers, Prairie Oyster. Quite probably the last actual Country band to find success on commercial radio (and television) in Canada, ‘Oyster’ were awarded 6 Junos and more than 10 Canadian Country Music Awards during their illustrious career.

Since his 2010 debut Solo album Under The Big Big Sky, Russell has gone on to release 3 records under his own name and has continued to tour regularly performing as a duo or with his trio in theatres, folk clubs, and house concerts all across Canada.

Listen now on Spotify, Apple and Google Podcasts, YouTube, Anchor.FM, or wherever you find your podcasts.
