Foundry

Foundry FOUNDRY is a collaborative month-long series of showcases dedicated to forward-thinking global talent in non-traditional spaces.

The first project of its kind in Toronto, we integrated several concepts to create an immersive, multi-sensory experience for our city’s music lovers: the conversion of a unique location; thoughtful series based curation with international artists and local tastemakers; as well as experimentation with technology and music.

"For me, it's not just a techno party."

Over the 25 years, Jeff Mills has done just about everything possible to defy easy categorization: spreading sorcery throughout Detroit airwaves as The Wizard, serving as a foundational member of Underground Resistance, building monumental techno label Axis Records from the ground up, scoring movies…

Jeff Mills in NOW Magazine:

"I have a vision that if we can stretch electronic art and music to the point where it comfortably encompasses every type of creative act, then we have the chance to create something that never existed before."

On behalf of all the teams that worked together to create Foundry, we'd like to thank every one of you for making this year another great success!

Despite the last minute venue change, we were able to show that great artists and the right crowd are what truly define an event. We also have our volunteers and Artefact to thank for visual production that kept the vibe each weekend unique.

But what we're most proud of was seeing multiple generations of music lovers - ranging from early 20s to 50s - together under one roof until the early morning.

A very special shout out to 99 Sudbury St. and their dedicated manager Saba Pesce for saving the series, Councillor Ana Bailao for defending our cause at City Hall, as well as all of our partners and sponsors for sticking with us to the end.

We hope to be back this summer!
