DDRA Canada Day Regatta

This annual Canada Day mixed sport regatta at Toronto's Centre Island welcomes canoe, kayak, rowing and dragon boat teams.

This historic event has been running since 1884 for rowing and canoe/kayak, and added dragon boats in 2003. The Dominion Day Regatta Association (DDRA) welcome clubs and teams from Ontario, Canada, and USA to compete at this recreational regatta. 2022 marks the 138th anniversary of this event, and we are always looking for new participants and sponsors to join us.

The Rusty Dragons "Barracudas" team raced at the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival this weekend on Toronto Island. Coaches Bethany Yam and Jamie Lee Gleason are our coaches, with captains Graeme and Hamza, and myself as team manager. The bottom line is we won the "E" Mixed Final Sunday afternoon against 5 other determined teams, by a margin of 0.08 seconds!! Our next race is the Canada Day Regatta (also on Toronto Island - supplied by GWN). We are still recruiting a few more members. Contact [email protected] for details.

The Dominion Day Regatta for 2021 has been postponed to July 1, 2022.

The Dominion Day Regatta Association hopes to see you all on Toronto Island on July 1, 2022.
