Secure Your Ride: A Guide to Locking Your Bike

Hola, Trixista!

Exploring Madrid on two wheels is an unforgettable experience, and we at Trixi.com want to ensure that your cycling adventure is both fun and secure. To help you protect your rented bicycle, here's a simple yet effective way to lock it:

✅ Front Wheel and Frame: First, find a sturdy, immovable object like a bike rack or a metal post. Open your bike lock and loop it through the front wheel, extending it around the bike frame. Secure the lock to the immovable object. This method anchors your bike effectively, deterring theft of the front wheel and the bike itself.

✅ Frame and Back Wheel: Alternatively, you can loop the lock through the back wheel and around the bike frame. Again, attach the lock to something solid and stationary. This technique is particularly useful if your lock isn't long enough to secure both the wheel and frame to an external object but still ensures that the main parts of your bike stay put.

✅ Back Wheel and Frame: If you prefer, you can secure the back wheel and frame together. While this method doesn't anchor your bike to an external object, it prevents the rear wheel from being taken, and securing the frame makes it difficult for the entire bike to be carried away.

Remember, the best lock is only as good as how you use it. Always lock your bike when unattended, even if it's just for a minute. And when you're done with your ride, simply return the bike to our designated areas.
