As we find ourselves yet again pulling out the umbrellas and wellies, we eagerly (and soggily!) continue to dream of another Summer of fun and games on the lawn.

This year we’ll be seeing bouncy castles, mini golf, croquet, and even an inflatable rodeo - can’t wait to see the wedding gallery after that one!

Sitting next to the saw mill and stretching through the Osmaston parkland, the lake is picture-perfect and oh-so-peaceful, and a popular spot for photos together on your wedding day.

The team at Osmaston Park would like to wish everyone a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend, full of treats and time with loved ones!

It’s been all-go on site for the past few weeks, while we complete the finishing touches ahead of re-opening this week, so a few days off to consume excessive amounts of chocolate couldn’t have come at a better time 😄 We’ll be back at it again on Tuesday and ready to officially get our 2024 season started.

On rainy days like today ☔ it might be hard to see the appeal of getting married outside and facing the uncertainty of not knowing what the weather will do on your big day.

But, as outdoor wedding experts and enthusiasts, we're here to reassure you that, while all eventualities will be planned for, when Plan A works out the risk always pales into insignificance when the reward looks like this ⬆

And the truth is, even though it wasn't raining the weather wasn't perfect for any of these weddings - some were too hot, some very cloudy, some a bit windy. But each of them were incredibly special, memorable, and beautiful - which are three things your wedding day should absolutely be.

Here’s D&J to give your Tuesday a boost, in their effortlessly romantic and fun-filled wedding back in July 2021.

We don’t always see many pictures of couples strolling in the woodlands so we’ll be encouraging much more of that this year! Along with the saw mill, the woodland area provides a peaceful spot to retreat to, for a quiet moment and some special photos together.

We got a taste of Spring in Osmaston yesterday, with some sunny and blue skies, and even a bit of time without our coats (we forgot what that felt like!).

The hats and gloves may be back in action again today, but we’re bringing some sunshine back with the lovely smiles of H&J, on their wedding day stroll down the back driveway.

We love this picture, not only for the view of our gorgeous grounds, but also because it captures the energy of one of our favourite parts of a wedding day…the set up!

Though at times a little frantic, the hours before a couple arrives are so exciting for us - the marquee buzzes with the hustle and bustle of suppliers catching up, setting up, and getting sorted.

Flowers get tweaked, fabrics get fluffed, drinks get poured, almost-forgotten phone snaps are taken ready to update the socials later, the food smells start to waft through from the catering bay, and the sound checks ring out through the marquee.

We love the growing anticipation as we get closer to the time where guests start arriving, knowing that the couple soon follows, and that that’s when the party really starts.

It’s a real joy to see all your hard work and planning come together and to be able to host your fabulous celebration, and BOY are we excited for the 2024 season!!! 56 days and counting, we cannot wait to welcome you back 🥳

💐 Throwing the bouquet - is it in or out? 💐

The bouquet toss has long been considered a way for the bride to bestow good luck in love to whoever catches the flowers, with the tradition evolving from a more brawl-like approach of guests pulling away jewellery and ripping off bits of the dress for their chance at romantic success 😮

Thankfully, the tradition became more civilised along the way though we are finding it a much less popular part of the day as years go by. The singletons on the guest list may no longer feel so lucky being lined up to have things thrown at them 😂 and many brides are opting to keep their flowers safe and sound, often ready for preserving in one of the many wonderful ways now available.

Touching the bride for good luck was seemingly the OG approach before the jewellery theft kicked in 😅 so we think pulling her in for a wedding day cuddle and a selfie will give you all the luck and love you need. If you’re a fan of the fun and love a bouquet toss then our gorgeous grounds provide the perfect backdrop for you to fling your flowers…or even for the gents to have a go with some foliage à la picture 4 🌿

Not to sound like a needy ex…but hey, we miss you. X 😘😂

We’re now halfway through our closed season and although we are itching to have the marquee full of lots of lovely faces again, this down time gives us a great opportunity to make repairs and improvements without disrupting our bookings.

We’re still open for viewings and it’s been great to show so many people around in recent weeks, please enquire through our website if you’d like to get booked in to come and have a nosey.

Happy New Year to you all! 💫 We hope that the festive season was filled with much merriment and joy, and maybe some drinking out of a shoe?! 😂

January is off to a flying start and our viewings diary is filling up faster than the bin bag of wrapping paper on Christmas morning…if you want to come along for a look around too then get in touch, it would be our pleasure to meet you!
