I celebrated my 40th birthday weekend at Knockerdown Cottages and it was perfect! Justeen and Fiona were incredibly helpful and responsive and took a lot of the pressure off. Thank you! We had exclusive use of the venue, with friends and family staying in the cottages. There were plenty of communal areas and things to keep the kids entertained! The facilities were brilliant - Brackendale room was perfect for a big party on the Saturday night, and the Carsington room for a more relaxed gathering on Friday. The location was also excellent - central enough for people travelling from all over England; lots of places to visit and things to do nearby, including a nice walk (or run!) to Carsington Water. Knockerdown Inn is just on the doorstep and we had a great Sunday lunch there. It was very safe and secure which meant everyone could really relax and let their hair down!
Knockerdown Weddings & Events kicked off their wedding season with a bang as they hosted their first wedding of the year
The weekend was nothing short of fantastic, leaving everyone in high spirits.
On Friday, the couple, along with their friend Anna, transformed the venue into a vibrant DIY village, complete with Anna's enchanting garden room. As guests arrived, they were greeted with cheers and warm embraces, setting the tone for a weekend of relaxation and excitement.
Saturday was a day of continued decorating, while guests enjoyed the leisure activities such as swimming, games, and scenic walks around Carsington Water. The evening brought the arrival of the Oatcake van, delighting guests with delicious treats and laughter-filled game sessions in the Games Room.
Sunday marked the eagerly awaited wedding day, with the bride's excitement as she announced the special occasion from her cottage window. Guests gathered for welcome drinks before proceeding to the ceremony in the Brackendale Room, where a surprise choir serenaded the couple during the signing—a touching moment, especially for the groom, thanks to the bride's well-kept secret!
After a lively confetti toss and group photo, guests enjoyed a drinks reception followed by a unique wedding breakfast: a Fish and Chip van stationed in the street, providing a fun and casual dining experience for all. Speeches, cake cutting, and the first dance were accompanied by an Indian Food Van, music, and dancing, finished off with a late-night supper featuring a delightful Cheese Tower.
Laughter, music, and cheers echoed throughout the day, bringing the celebration to a joyous close.
