The most beautiful spray for the most beautiful Queen. The flowers in the Queen's funeral wreath featured scented pelargoniums, garden roses, autumnal hydrangea, sedum, dahlias and scabious, all in shades of gold, pink and deep burgundy, with touches of white, to reflect the colours in the Royal Standard flag on which it sat. I was so pleased to see the Queen Elizabeth rose included in her wreath, I have just loved seeing mine blooming this year.

How did I get here?

Well I have always had an interest in flowers from a young age. Whether it was putting together some shop bought flowers for my mum or going to select a beautiful bunch of flowers for a friends birthday. It wasn’t until September 2019 when I was arranging the flowers for my sons dedication that my interest became something more than this.

The flowers shown in the photo are what I created for this special occasion and I have to admit I was rather chuffed with them. From this my friend who was busy doing my nails one night had a look at the flowers in a photo and said “you could totally do my wedding flowers” to which I replied “not a chance”. Well she proved me wrong!!

A few weeks later whilst talking with my fabulous wedding florist and a close florist friend I ended up buying Hedgerows from the previous owner. Skip to 2 years later and here we are!!

Hi I’m Hannah the face and hands behind Hedgerows and Laneways.

I’m kickstarting this year by taking part in the social media challenge to tell you a bit more about me and my business. Thank you to the ladies for the prompts each day. So here we go

Day 1………. Who are you?
I’m Hannah and I’m married to Robin and mother to Rory. We live in Ballyclare and have just recently finished renovations on our home and work space. I change careers in 2019 to floristry after taking over Hedgerows and Laneways.

Weddings, wreaths, workshops and special occasions are my passion and creating something truly unique for each customer is just such a pleasure.

2022 I have plans to grow my own cut flowers after completing a course through SERC to create a cut flower garden. I am really looking forward to joint the Flower farming community and excited to see how the garden grows.

In my free time I enjoy spending family time together going to parks, out for a cuppa and a treat, playing piano and cooking/baking. We love a trip to the north coast of Northern Ireland and enjoying days at the beach. Watch this space for more exciting news.
