Many men grow up not feeling seen.

Many men never receive the feeling of being truly seen.

The wound of this means these words can often not land as deeply as they should if or when we do finally hear them.

We understand the impact of this is directly linked to the high rates of male su***de across the world.

The truth is many men carry the wound of feeling unseen, unrecognised and unacknowledged.

Those men carry that into the world and harm others usually in some unconscious attempt to feel good enough. To be seen.

The truth is having people that truly see you for who you are will change your life.

There is an unspoken rule that we understand.

When a man has decided to allow himself to be seen, his life changes.

When a man trusts himself to be seen by those around him, he will begin to thrive. ⚡

We guide men to heal, to grow and to lead.

Each one of us carry our own personal story of pain and disconnection.

Self-harm, sadness, emptiness, loneliness, unworthiness, trauma, shame, emotional numbing... The wounds of men are many.

Each one of us have journeyed deeply enough to know this is not a healthy way to live.

We understand we need each other.

Not from a desperate needy place but to become our best selves.

The Forge 2024 - Blacksmith Ceremony

Forge ~ To create something strong, enduring, or successful.

To forge anything by hand is a humbling process...

🔻🔻🔻

For the past 7 months these men have been part of a training programme called 'The Forge' - this is our flagship annual men's leadership programme.

This programme is designed to support men to step into their own leadership using our tools as a framework.

It's been a lengthy process of diving deep into old stories, letting go of the past, creating steady foundations and garnering the skills to forge a path forward for each man.

This weekend past was about reflecting on, celebrating and anchoring what this journey has meant for each of the men.

Our friend and blacksmith for the day invited us to make ceremony of the process.

With each blow of the hammer to strike our intentions into a piece we could later take away.

Here are some key lessons taken from the experiece:

1. The strength of each blow determines the next.
2. Refinement is an on-going process.
3. Mastery takes practice... Alot of it.
4. Time is of the essence.
5. There is little space for perfectionism.
6. Comparison is the thief of joy.

As our journey nears it's end (November), we celebrate the men that have commited to this journey with us and have allowed themselves to be forged and transformed by the process.

I started 'men's work' to become a better man.

Today, six years on I lead a community of men doing the same.

My work is a manifestation of moving beyond childhood trauma onto an ever deepening journey with ancestry, myth, rites of passage, ritual, animism, decolonization and community building.

What greater impact could one man have than to leave a positive impact on the planet and for the next generations?

I'd like to believe my approach prepares men to find their own answers to questions such as this amidst times that desperately ask us to re-imagine and action a different future.

"I was once sat exactly where you are, looking at this page thinking "Men's work"? What the f*ck is "Men's work"?

Drinking every weekend, watching p**n, shallow hook ups with women, fractured relationships with my friends and family.

I lacked depth and meaning.

In August 2023 at a festival I put myself out there and my life got richer, with more substance and more meaning ever since.

I met First Men and came out of that workshop a different man and have been journeying with them since. I feel blessed to have found this tribe of men, a tribe I finally feel like I belong to.

I help men to recognise the wounds they carry and guide them toward healing by alchemising these wounds. In doing so, to release their innate potential within, which has always lived there, it just needed a helping hand.

I give men the opportunity to express themselves with movement, dance, music, words, noise, tears, wrestling and much more to unveil their fullest and truest selves.

Creating spaces to allow men to speak freely from the heart about sh*t that actually matters.

I have witnessed with my own eyes life changing growth both in myself and other beautiful humans. In men.

I have been a movement & martial arts coach since August 2013 and understand how important movement, embodiment, wildness and expression is for us as men.

I help men reconnect with mother nature and to understand how disconnection from her is to our own detriment. Our lives can only improve once we begin to rekindle this lost and deeply spiritual relationship.

I support men to remember their innately wild and spiritual centre, to return to health & peace within, rippling out to every element of their life."
