Congratulations to all of you amazing couples planning your wedding day!
My name is Jacqui Houston and I have been capturing stunning wedding photography for over a decade now and love every bit of it.
The wedding industry has went through changes over the last few years and I would like to as you guys how you feel about the process of booking your wedding photographer.
If you have booked or are still looking can you please take the time to answer these questions in the comments:

1) What is the main thing you have found frustrating about looking for a photographer?
2) Have you found the information you have been sent by potential photographers easy to understand?
3) Do you like the idea of package or would you prefer a list of services you could pick and choose from to create a package more tailored to you?
4) Has there been anything that has stood out as being really helpful?

My top questions❓️to ask your wedding photographer before you book!

📷️I love it when couples ask me questions, it is an amazing way to make sure we are both singing of the same sheet and they know what they can expect from me and my assistant on the day. Plus, it gives me better idea of what their top priorities are regarding their wedding photography.

Here is a list of the top questions I think you should be asking your wedding photographer before you book:

1, How long have they have been taking wedding photographs, a lot of my clients like to ask what I was doing before and what led me into taking wedding photographs.

2, Do they have an extensive portfolio that you can view online or in print at their studio/office. I always like my clients to have a good look over my work to get a feel for the type of wedding photographs I take.

3, How many photographers will be with them on the day. I would always recommend 2 mainly because you can capture both morning preparations, capture different angles with out to much movement during the ceremony and it allows us to work more efficiently so couples have more time with their family and friends.

4, Ask what is included in the package they are offering you? For instance, if it’s a digital package how may digital images can they expect to receive? I away give couples a range for instance my full day package would normally provide a couple with between 350 and 400 images give or take.
Is there an album? If so, what size is the album and how many photographs does it hold?

5, How long are they going to be with you on the day? If they are covering preparation in the morning what time can you expect them?
If your wedding runs a little late will they still stay to cover the 1st couple of dances. I make sure I always stay until the clients 1st couple of dances and I always say goodbye in case there is anything they would still like covered.

6, Ask if they edit all of their images in house, making sure they are not outsourcing them to an image editing service. Many of the companies that offer this batch editing service are based abroad, and this is becoming a cheaper alternative to less expensive photographers. In some cases they may breach GDPR by sending your photographs off to a third party, if they have not informed you of this practise when booking.
All of our wedding photos are edited with care and our full attention in house to ensure our high level of quality control and this is also where we put our unique style into every photograph your receive.

7, Ask anything that you don’t understand every question is a good question! Whether it is about the word used to describe the type of photography. To if your Gran and Grandad can be photographed 1st to get them back in out of the cold! This is your wedding your special day, and these are the memories that you will have to look back on for years to come.

Their studio is based in Bathgate, West Lothian; however, they do cover all over Scotland and further afield.
