The ranunculus seem to be coming along really nicely and although I don’t want to tempt fate… they’ve done well so far and I’ve got them squashed into every spare space! I’ve had so many years of the tunnels full of their beautiful flowers but last year was a disaster for me and I lost 70% of the claws mostly rotting off after days of being frozen solid and then thawing and staying wet! Such a waste! Im keeping everything crossed that they make it this year!

Yes it’s that mad crazy woman cutting back Clematis in the garden! No insta filters can cope with ‘hat-hair’ and no make up 😂😂… but it’s time to prune your GROUP 3 Clematis! Check the variety you are growing and that it’s a late flowering clematis and prune now for lots of lovely new growth that will give you lots of flowers in summer! My favourite group 3’s are Duchess of Albany (trumpets of pink), Arabella (large clear mauvy lilac and flowers for ages) Royal Velours (a velvety deep purple). Go go go!

Merry Christmas from the Plans & Plants Workshop where we’ve held our wreath classes this week! It was so lovely to see familiar faces and meet new ones! Always such a wonderful pre-Christmas event and with the delicious treats made by @hilarytruelove it was a very festive and joyful time! We try to make our wreaths as sustainable as possible and use mainly locally grown foliage and decorations. All compostable afterwards or to be dried and used all year! Thank you to everyone who came to join us and I hope your beautiful wreath makes you smile throughout Christmas! Xx
