With a headline tour coming up, Kezia Gill could be describing a night at her concert – but in fact her new song This Perfect Night is about that one night, just one night, when two people meet and part before the sun rises.

Lyrically, the song is quite short with just two verses, but with the subject that seems quite fitting. Musically it is quite catchy, quite commercial and shows that Kezia is very much on a journey with her releases. Emotionally – I’d love to hear this song live on a warm summers night at an outdoor festival – it has that happy singalong vibe to it.

As for that tour – Kezia takes to the road in October and November of this year with “The Story So Far” – and having been around for quite a lot of it, we know that it is quite the story! This fabulous storyteller will be playing 12 shows across the UK with tickets available now.

We first heard Tom Hodge Music at the Pure Country Music & Dance Festival earlier this month when he blew everyone away on the acoustic stage.

If you are around Cheshire this Friday, you can hear Tom's incredible vocals as he plays at The Kinderton in Middlewich. A local venue promoting live music, like all venues its a case of use it or lose it!

We are proud to support Independent artists, independent festivals and of course - the independent venues that do so much to not just keep music live but give opportunities to musicians to show their skills

A reminder that, although tomorrow is Wednesday, we have a new release!

Scott Ashworth has recorded a quite bluesy song, but its also very much in the Americana style - its more his voice that makes it blues, while the lyrics and guitar lines are reminiscent of Jace Everett - although much lighter!

It's catchy, it's well written, it tells a story, it's got great vocals, it's got great instrumentation - it's Blues/Americana/Country and its worth a listen!

Wills & The Willing release a new single on Friday - First Violin - which is the second single from his album Another Long Week. Almost wistful, its a song of promises - "If I was..." listing all the things that he would do for you....

Ian Wills has already done many things, not necessarily those on the song! From a quite novel car theft incident through poverty and drug use to building not one but two businesses. Few UK artists have a backstory that is almost a country song in itself - or perhaps should be a biopic!

Ian's real love is writing poetry, and you can hear that in his songs which are a UK take on the country genre

When we review new music, we find it important to get down our immediate first impressions of a track. When we get sent a from Jade Helliwell we already know its going to be good, but with her latest offering How Love Goes we thought that the review can be JUST the first thoughts! Francesca had first listen, and wrote this...

"Wow, blown away.
This is the most country I have heard Jade and it's old school country.

No tricks or gimmicks, but the beautiful voice of Jade tells a true classic, the story of life and love. - it's just the way it goes.

If you know when you know, then you should know this is something special!
It speaks the truth, with Jade reflecting on the song

"I love what we came up with. This song so perfectly describes my own relationship. Emilia Quinn Music ’s live show last year at the Hare and Hounds in Birmingham was not just a great night (we were there, we reviewed it!) but it has also provided a series of live recordings. The latest of these is Backroads which is released on Friday. Once again it allows the listener to hear Emilia’s raw energy that is hard to capture in a studio – an energy that makes her live performances unmissable. A more measured song, featuring not just those emotive vocals but beautiful keyboards and a captivating guitar solo to end!
