One of my very best moments of designing and working with brides to make their wedding gown of dreams, is not just handing over the gown for their big day, but being able to wish them a very happy first wedding anniversary a year later!

Happy anniversary Charlotte and Jonathan. You look absolutely gorgeous and so very happy.

Happy 34th anniversary to me!

It’s hard to believe that is 34 years old today! I shall be celebrating in style, but thought I’d share a thank you note from my lovely bride 😘 and a photo of her looking gorgeous in her dress.

Dear Karen,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the stunning, beautiful wedding dress you made me. Dan and I had the most fantastic, sunny, happy, wedding day full of laughter, family and friends - even better than we could have hoped for.

…. and I managed to get the photo that I had wanted in front of the Bishop’s Palace - exactly as I wanted it. I thought I’d send you the photo by https://www.nickchurchphotography.co.uk/home as it shows off the dress so beautifully too.

My friend took this photo of me outside my studio on the fabulous Christmas Steps in the centre of Bristol.

I thought my new followers might like to meet me, and see where I design and make the wedding dresses.

The studio is open Tuesday to Saturday by appointment, but I’m often working in the back so do knock and say hello.

When people ask me, ‘what is the most difficult part of making a bridal gown’, they often expect me to say the fine beadwork handsewn onto the dress. I however love working with beads and arranging them into intricate patterns just as the bride and I discussed. I love these beads from – so pretty and sparkly.

Hooray! Off on holiday today and I’m raising a glass to !

My lovely friend Tara was due to get married last year in Cyprus, but as we know so many couples had to postpone and change their wedding plans.

We were lucky and managed to transfer the flights and accommodation to this year for our holiday.

Can’t wait to celebrate with and Nathan when they marry next year.

I’ve been so busy working on my dress orders that I forgot to tell you that Karen Reilly Bridalwear is 33 years old! I started in August 1988 and haven’t looked back since 💕

Sadly I have no pictures of the purple wedding dress I made for a bride a few years ago, but to celebrate my amethyst anniversary ;-) I thought I’d share the dress I made for myself to celebrate one of my own special birthdays!
