Mid Ulster Show Jumpers

Mid Ulster Show Jumpers Mid Ulster show jumpers provides gymkhanas and pony games for all levels and ages from the surrounding areas. This is followed by three open classes.
(11)

All shows provide three rings (Horse, Pony & Beginners) in operation, including practices areas. The horse ring starts with the warm up, then two novice classes, where the second round is allowed regardless of faults. All clear rounds compete against the clock. The pony ring starts with the fledglings, where everyones a winner. This is followed by the warm up and then novice and open classes for p

onies upto 12-2, 13-2 then 14-2. The pony ring uses safety cups and new jumps. This provides great learning experience for ponies and riders alike, but is keenly contested. The beginners ring has the pony games (ponies to be lead), and beginners jumping (ponies to be lead). The beginners ring is under the charge of Isabel Mawhinney and provides a great opportunity for lead rein and young riders to develop skills and have fun. The charity show on the 7th May also has a showing ring with classes for tiny tots lead rein, first ridden, family pony and horse under saddle. The Perpetual Trophy Gymkhana on the September 10th also has a showing ring with classes for tiny tots lead rein, first ridden, family pony and horse under saddle.

Tamniarn annual charity gymkhana 2024… forever to be known as Hughie’s show

We are so delighted to announce the proceeds from this years show has raised a massive £1250!!!
This will be divided between Castlehill Residential home entertainment fund, providing live entertainment and tasty food amongst other things and our local Marie Curie who sadly needs no introduction to many. This financial support to both will help in two very different ways but will help all the same.

it means so much to us to be able to keep this show going and this wouldn’t be possible without the support and kindness offered to us year after year.

We would like to thank our competitors, sponsors the multitude of people who donated to our charities and Lylehill Farm Jonjo Bright and family, they once again offered us a Meat box to the value of £100 full of their fabulous farm to fork produce which alone brought in £400!

Thanks to Lyndon McKee photography for catching such epic shots of the smiles and action through the day. I hope you all seen his albums on Facebook.

Thanks to Missy and me Ltd for the tasty catering through the day.

Once again a very big thank you for your support it means so much.
The Nicholl and Carson families x

Tamniarn Charity show 2023 results

We were delighted when the rain clouds started to clear on the morning of our show and didn’t return until the next day. A steady flow of eager competitors and spectators arrived to enjoy the lovely day. The proceeds of this year’s show are going towards Castlehill Nursing Home residents entertainment fund and Marie Curie. The first was very important to Hugh as he founded Tamniarn Charity Gymkhana 50+ years ago and always raised money for his nephew William who has Down’s syndrome in an attempt to enhance the lives of William and his friends. The gymkhana for example provides finances for day trips and live bands to make in house parties extra special. Marie Curie needs no introduction and provided an invaluable resource to Hugh and us as a family and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them in a way that will help provide for other local families. Many thanks to our judges for the day. Mrs Evelyn Brown in the horse arena, Sam McMaster and Nicola McIvor Henry in the pony ring and Eleanor Richardson for the pony games. An additional thanks has to go to Jonjo Bright and Lylehill Farm Templepatrick for their support once again in donating the fabulous Meat hamper to the value of £100 which was won on the day following a live showing on Facebook by Mrs Evelyn Brown.
