Thank you to all who have sent congrats to me after watching my segment on BBC Escape to the Country last Saturday. I’m glad you all enjoyed it. A few have asked how it all came about and so i’ll explain a little. One day in Sept 2022, I was emailed by a producer who produces the iconic and much loved BBC One tv show, Escape to the Country. They were filming an episode for the show around Lancashire and in particular the Ribble Valley. They asked if I would like to feature in the episode as part of their ‘mini escape’ segment, being someone who grew up in the area, moved away, then came back and in my case started my own business. 🥂
They mentioned due to the nature of my work as a wedding photographer, they’d love to see the countryside areas that I often shoot, either with weddings or engagement shoots.
So, naturally I agreed and off I went (after of course picking a sunny day ☀️) to shoot my favourite places in our pretty Valley. I started off down at Cromwell Bridge, (which unfortunately isn’t open to the public anymore), but an amazing spot that I have loved to photograph since my first couple bravely stepped onto the bridge way back in 2018. Then off I went to Pendle Hill with Fromm Shoppe mascot Maggie, to show the audience the fabulous views we are blessed with and then back to my studio in Whalley.
Amazingly, the producer loved the shots I filmed & consequently asked if they could feature more of my work in the segment. This included my very first wedding photograph at Cromwell Bridge and a unique snowy wedding day shoot on Pendle Hill in 2018. This was such a lovely compliment and because of this I managed to take up a whole minute and a half on prime time tv! Woo hoo! 🤩
