Oh Hello there:

Welcome to the lots of new followers on here, watching my floristry journey.

Hi, I'm Emma, and Essex based Florist who absolutely loves all things colourful and textural.

Ive always been surrounded by nature. I grew up with horses roaming in the back garden, having chickens and a huge garden to play in. My grandparents had a wonderful garden with the hugest hydrangeas, runner beans and sweet peas. It really was a lovely place to play as a kid. Climbing the apple trees and digging carrots for our tea!

Fast forward 37 years and I have my own little one to encourage back to nature, to play in the mud and to enjoy growing her own veg.

Floristry felt like the best fit for me. I love all the change in seasons, the difference in flowers and most importantly the vast uniqueness in the varieties that I offer my couples.

When I say that I know my suppliers, I really do! I go to their fields, I walk around with them and more often than not, cut my own too. You get the very best, pesticide free, no imports, locally grown, beautifully scented and highly decorative gorgeous flowers!

I like being creative, and working to a colourful brief. A feeling. Playful, Romantic, Whimsical - you name it. Flowers can say it all!

I limit my Wedding schedule to 12-15 per year, depending on the size. For me, I like to keep ideas fresh, to avoid burnout and also to enjoy my personal time (Quincy isnt quite 4 yet!!)

I dont use oasis: my works are on biodegradable frames, often moss and chicken wire.

Flower Club: Group B - Part 1: What a lovely group!! With two ladies unable to attend the first group session, we were a little low on numbers but that didnt deter our spirits!

The first month is all about introductions, about familiarising yourself with florals and gaining confidence in making a bouquet!

Season best flowers including locally grown (2 miles away!) Sunflowers, as well as Dill, Ammi Majus, Larkspur, Delphiniums, Achellia, Scabiosa, Nigella, Feather Grass and more..

The most challenging part again was the wrapping!

Roll on next month..

Flower Club - Part 3: One of my favourite sessions and a reminder of how far I have come in my business.

Flower Crowns were where I started. Making tiny ones for Quincy during lockdown. Her little head adorned with flowers from the garden: it brought some light relief to those stressful times and she really did look adorable wearing them!

Now, I am showing groups of ladies how to make their very own everlasting crowns to wear for years to come.

Heres a few from last night. What a class! Slow and steady, building layers and making these gorgeous creations!

Well done ALL! Equally as amazing, all unique and suiting your style & flair ❀️

Dried Wreath's: My heart is super full after a wonderful set of workshops at 'The Hub' today.
Two groups of ladies were taught all the skills they needed to create and take home their very own dried flower wreath.
Ive been fortunate enough to start early this year in collecting all of the freshly cut - to dry flowers and everyone has loved seeing the different varieties available.

As always, I marvel at how each wreath differs and shows individual colour preference and personality.

Lovely lovely to see some returning faces as well today!
Didnt they all do well?

Sweet Peas: Today I visited the wonderful Paul at who lucky for me is a 5 minute drive from 'The Hub'.

Oh my Goodness is all I can say. Visiting her brought up some very nostalgic memories and I honestly so pleased that there is demand for Sweet Peas again.

Phil has dedicated years in breeding these beauties and due to his insane capabilities will be releasing some new varieites in the not too distant future.

I was super lucky to have seen these at first sight and WOOWWWEEEEE is all I can say..

Now all I need to do is try to convince him to name one after Quincy.. 🀣

Blossom Wyke: Last Sunday saw me venture out to The Dengies visiting a lovely group of ladies who organised a workshop on Flower Arranging.

All flowers, freshly cut from local Flower Farmers & Garden Growers fields were arranged in a hand tied bouquet and taken home to be presented in a vase.

These two hour sessions are a great way to indulge in some light hobbying, getting together with friends or even form part of Hen Do Package.

If this sounds like something you would like to organise, please do get in touch.

For Jo: I couldnt let this Wedding pass without shining the light on this wonderful Bride.

Jo was extremely clear on what she wanted (I love me a Bride who absolutely knows!) and even organised her flowers before the venue was booked.

With a nod to her dear Grandad by using Sweet Williams, and the brief being meadow styled, I was super excited about creating this organic and free moving bouquet.

Simple and Joyous!

Layer Marney: The beautiful Wed last Sunday at in a true Family orientated day.

Jo asked for meadow, wild & whimsical seasonal flowers for her display and I think I nailed it!

I absolutely loved creating this bouquet using a huge selection of flowers:
Alliums, Sweet Williams, Peonies, Cornflowers, Scabiosa, Wild Phlox, Buttercups, Geums, Pittosporum, Ranunculus, Orlaya Grandiflora, Briza Grass, Quakers Grass, Solomons Seal - to name a few.

It had such glorious movement!

Here's a little snapshot of the day, with their doggie & mum included.

Carriers Cottage: I simply couldnt resist spending a little downtime in the wonderful garden open day.

Patrick did our wedding flowers in 2017, way way before I was a Florist and I still look back on our photo's thinking what an absolute rockstar he is when it comes to floral design.

Nelly and Mouse were as lovely as ever, and Sheree's baking skills - simply devine.

We all enjoyed the garden and ate delicious cakes; I even treated myself to a plant (or 6!)

Sunday's are for relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and being together as a family. Now to plant everything up!

Spring/Summer: Annnnnddddd just like, with a dash of sunshine and a sprinkle of rain, we have Peonies in bloom and the garden is FULL of colour.

This is one of the many favourite parts to my year as a seasonal florist. As always the goodies start to emerge from their slow grown settings and full my Hub space with scent and colour.

Were transitioning in to those brighter colours now, the flowers that pack a punch and quite frankly, I am here for it!!!

Snapdragons, Geums, Peonies, Alstroemerias, Sweet Peas, Sweet Williams, Herbs, Fatsia Leaves, Briza Grasses and so so much more coming in the next few weeks.

I cannot wait.

Flower Club: Part 1; Last night saw 'The Hub' launch its first ever Flower Club session and my heart: my heart is just full!!

11 ladies, laughed, learnt and took home a beautiful bouquet to enjoy over the next week.

The idea behind my Flower Club is to showcase British blooms through the seasons. To challenge our idea of flowers and how we use them, and to encourage a wider audience in practising sustainable methods.

You'll see photo's pop up Monthly showing off what this group have greated. Each month has been designed to show the season in its full glory; learning a new skill and working with different flowers.

BRAVO Ladies!

Tulips: My OH my, OH my! I can genuinely say, I have had the most wholesome day of downtime with my lovely girl and Aunt today, as we drove up to Norfolk to visit the Tulip Fields.

did not disappoint and I am just so thrilled that I persevered and got tickets for its final day of opening.

We really got lucky with the weather, so despite the wind, we had beautiful sunshine.

Finalist: I am super super proud that not only got nominated, but became a finalist in for the Essex Region. Within a year of opening the Workshop, relocating to a new, much larger building and entering a competition which I was the ONLY florist in! TFC has come a long long way already.

I wasnt a winner sadly; but I can hand on heart say it was the best experience ever!!

Mr F.C and I got dolled up for a rare night out, and rather be Mummy & Daddy; we thoroughly enjoyed some much needed adult conversation and laughter.

The table allocated was magic, and I've come away meeting lots of wonderful inspirational small businesses across Essex!

Thanks for nominating a British Flower Supporter, a Seasonal Florist and someone who champions all of out local small businesses.

Memorial: I was recently asked for some advice on a Memorial Wreath for a service taking place, not only miles away, but being held in honour of an 80th anniversary of a Lancester Bomber that went down during the War.

After discussing with my client, we opted for a living wreath, full of bulbed Muscari and fresh foliages.

This wreath had 75 Muscari attached to it, with thanks to and I've heard from the groundskeeper that these will be planted around the base of the Memorial for others to enjoy for years to come.

I love having bulbed flowers as an option available to my customers!
