The Memorial Awards Dance Day has been organised to provide young aspiring dance students in the North East of England the chance to participate in an audition ballet class taught by a guest teacher.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in class on Sunday, it was so lovely to see you all dance together!

Here are the three winners of this year's Memorial Awards. Well done all of you, you danced beautifully!

⭐️ Class A : Penny (Joy Beadell Award)

⭐️ Class B : Owen (Nora Lycette Fern Award)

⭐️ Class C : Matilda (Jean McDonnell Award)

📣📣Today is the day ... Don't Miss Out!📣📣

Registration for this years Memorial Awards Dance Day will be closing today.

Please make sure that you have your application form emailed to rachel.armin@ntlworld to secure your place in one of three classes tutored by the amazing Carla Pinchen, R.A.D examiner.

All three classes are open to ballet students in the North East of England, Grade 3 and above, who would like to take part in an audition style class, in a purpose built dance studio, with live pianist. Classes are adjudicated and a memorial trophy is awarded to one student in each level. Certifiactes of achievement are given to all attendees.

We look forward to seeing you all on the day!

📣 Tutor Spotlight 📣

We are so excited to be welcoming Carla Pinchen as our class tutor this year.

Carla is an R.A.D Examiner and tutor and regularly guest teaches across the country at conventions like Can You Dance. She also has her own school in the Lake District and is head of ballet at a dance school in Cumbria.

We are very lucky to have her and know that her classes will be full of energy!

Or should that be legs up, as shown by the beuatiful Class B from last years Dance Day?

If you love ballet, like we do, and would like to take part in class lead by a guest teacher and live pianist make sure you have applied soon. Class sizes are limited and were at capacity last year.

Open to all students in the North East of England, Grade 3 and above.

📣📣The Memorial Awards 2023📣📣

Registration is now open ...

The Memorial Awards are a long-standing audition style class in memory of three of the North East regions influential ballet teachers.

Open to all ballet students in the North East of England, the Awards are intended to give an insight into an audition class taught by a professional guest teacher, accompanied by a live pianist.

The classes are adjudicated, and winners of each class are awarded a Memorial trophy. All participants are recognised for their efforts with a certificate.

Thank you to all students, parents and teachers that came along to the Memorial Awards today. It was so lovely to watch each class, we hope you have all had a great day and enjoyed your classes with the wonderful Miss Hatton and Mr Plumpton?
