On 11th August 2023, a dream came true and I got to perform at Fairport's Cropredy Convention Official page along with Frances, Nathan, Ed, Olly and Kat. It was unforgettably, life-affirmingly spectacular and 99% of that is thanks to the audience; I'll never forget the sound of 10,000 people singing a song I wrote right back at me. If you're reading this, there's a good chance that's you. Thank you.

I hired a film crew to join us on stage to capture the whole thing on film and along with multitracked audio from the desk and the footage captured by the amazing Cropredy camera team, we've got more than enough material to create a live album and film.

As an independent artist, I have to be a one-man production studio, editor, graphic designer and - when I get around to it - songwriter and musician! With other projects, work and life happening, I haven't managed to do anything with this incredible footage of the most incredible of days.

It's time to change that. This wasn't just a special day for me; it was special to the many people who were there, it will be special to those who didn't manage to be there and I think it is only right I put in the effort so you can enjoy this footage too.

Today is GIG DAY folks, with the fabulous 3 Daft Monkeys kicking off a fantastic music-filled Bank Holiday weekend at Melbourne Assembly Rooms! There are a just few tickets left for their show tonight. Tomorrow, we welcome the wonderful Simply Dylan - now only 6 tickets left. Unfortunately, our patron Mark Radcliffe has regrettably had to cancel his Sunday show with his duo UNE, because of routine surgery, but he hopes to be back with us for a future date. This Bank Holiday Monday we are excited to welcome the very wonderful singer-songwriter Edwina Hayes! Edwina will be not only performing a concert for us in the evening, but she will also be running a very special song-writing workshop, which is open to all abilities, during the afternoon!

We are very excited to introduce 3 Daft Monkeys… With a brand new 4-piece line-up: Tim Ashton (vocals, 12-string guitar, penny whistle), Athene Roberts (violin, vocals, accordion), Jamie Graham (6-string bass) and Rich Mulryne (bespoke hand percussion kit, vocals) - the band will be performing on Friday 26 May at Melbourne Assembly Rooms for the 🎪BIG VILLAGE SMALL TOWN festival!

…the band weave enchanting melodies with catchy choruses, virtuoso vibrant fiddle, rhythmic 12-string guitar, 6-string bass, bespoke hand-percussion and 4-part vocal harmonies. Fascinating lyrics of personal and whimsical observations on life, and folk tales both ancient and modern, are told within the swirling layers of their music, all with the essential catchy sing-along chorus.
The band’s diversity is reflected in the acts for whom they have been invited as special guests, including touring across the UK and Europe with the Levellers, and opening for bands such as Hawkwind, Bellowhead, Show of Hands and Dreadzone, as well as headlining their own national tours.

Spot the difference!🧐 Behind every great frontman… in this case it was the legendary Tony Christie!… there’s always a great band and that was Fatea Magazine Band of The Year 2022 Ranagri! Our April 1st gig was such a fabulous night and we’d like to thank everyone who supported this gig and who came along and made it so very special👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Also, behind every great gig is Andy Heafield and his wonderful team of volunteers and bar staff at our fantastic venue, Melbourne Assembly Rooms and not forgetting the visiting crew, including Paul Smith on sound and the families that accompany and support our fabulous artists! For our Village Folk team, it was so lovely to meet such wonderful people and honoured to meet such very talented musicians, Thank You😍
