ᎪΝΝϴႮΝᏟᎬᎷᎬΝͲ

This announcement is coming to you with the heaviest of hearts... Perks Event Catering will be placed on a 'long pause'.

This is very, very fresh (only decided at the weekend), so our heads are in a bit of a fuzz, but it has been brewing for quite some time, without us really realising it. We have had to take action straight away, to minimise the amount of customers we inevitably had to let down, and to those customers, we are incredibly sorry, but financially, we have to stop asap, to make other arrangements for our family. Rest assured, we are responding to all, so bear with us as we have a lot to get through as well as still get orders out of the door.

We have had such an amazing 3 years, and genuinely, when we turned 3 recently, this most definitely wasn't in our plans! With our 2 young children, one of which is only 2 and one who has additional needs that need to be met and addressed, it's becoming impossible to combine the business and family life. We need our children to take priority. Family must come first.

Over 3 years (through lockdowns and financially difficult times), close to 5000 orders made, almost 4000 organic followers on facebook, fantastic feedback and reviews and of course our genuinely INCREDIBLE customers, some of which feel like family.... we are grateful for each and every one of you and feel like we are "pausing" on a high!

We are absolutely gutted, and a lot of tears have been had (including right now as I type this) 😆😭. But, for now, it's right for us and our little ones.

So thank you all SO SO much, for following us through this crazy journey and supporting us. This isn't goodbye... it's a 'See you later'!!

Here's just one thing that we've been up to... 50 individual cream teas! They went out for a networking event last week alongside 50 mimosas, too 🥂 . Sadly, there were no photos of those, but we were happy to provide the lovely chilled mimosas on such a sunny day!

Don't forget, we have an alcohol licence and can supply drinks (including soft drinks & new forest water) to go alongside your order. Just let us know what you fancy, and we can provide a quote. This is part of an afternoon tea buffet. I just forgot the pics of the sandwiches and fruit 😅 . There were also boxes for gluten-free and dairy free guests too.

We did savoury bacon & spring onion and goats cheese and cherry tomato cheesecakes, and the skewers were feta, olive, and tomato, drizzled in garlic oil 😋

Saturday was wedding day! With 2 wedding buffets headed out. One was an afternoon tea buffet, in boxes, and the second was this...

We made our way over to Lytchett minster School to provide some after ceremony canapés, then a classic buffet, with a few extras added on for good measure 😀

The canapés included were twice baked focaccia with a lemon and smoked salmon mousse, mini pulled pork sliders, prawn cocktails, mini mushroom, onion marmalade and goats cheese tartlets, and mini black peppered jackets filled with garlic soft cheese & chives 😋

ᏆͲ'Տ ϴႮᎡ ᏴᏆᎡͲᎻᎠᎪᎽ!!!

3 years ago, we posted our first ever bakes for sale. Just simple brownies, tiffin, bloomer bread, and sausage rolls for sale to start with, that turned into afternoon teas, picnics, and now full-blown weddings and events! All of the first bakes above are still so popular that they are included in most of what we do to this day.

So, as it's our birthday, and with a whole load of brand new followers, we thought we'd introduce ourselves all over again! I'll try and keep it as brief as possible 😅

During lockdown, like many, we were both out of work. I (Shona) was pregnant, so I couldn't work, and Ryan (my husband, who became my personal chef!), were stuck at home, making me the food that I was craving! I posted the photos of what he was making me, and so many of my friends said that we should start selling his food... so we did... and Perks Home Bakes was born. We've been incredibly lucky to be doing this together, full time. Even though we've been together for pretty much 20 years, we love working together ❤️

Now we are 'Perks Event Catering', and we still have such an amazing following of customers who've been with us from the start. Whether it be weekly deliveries or coming back to us once a year for our awesome brownie numbers, we're grateful for each and every one of you.

And yes.... it really is just the two of us. How do we do it? Blood, sweat, and tears 😅. It's quite the juggle with 2 young children. My eye bags are now suit cases, and there are a few more rolls on the tummy, but we get the job done because we LOVE it! (Also, we have some super supportive parents who help with the littles when they can). All the food, admin, photos, website, artwork, carefully thought out, and curated posts on our socials and community pages and the MOUNTAINS of washing up... just us!

Thank you for joining our journey. Whether you've tried our food or are here just having a nosy, we are happy to have you ❤️ . Who knows what's next for us, we have some ideas up our sleeve, that's for sure 😉

We were asked to do a mix of our picnic and cheese graze box. 'No sandwiches or bread' was the only request, and this is how it turned out 🙌🏻

Homemade roasted red pepper and tomato dip, chorizo and red pesto crispy pinwheels, rustic sausage roll bites, and fudgey brownie bites too, surrounded by a host of other goodies, cheeses and meats. Yum!

Perks Home Bakes is a family run home bakery business that started around May 2020. We found ourselves with a bit of spare time, like many others, so put our skills to some use! Ryan has been a qualified chef for around 16 years in various settings and has thought about doing his own thing before. Well, not only did lockdown help with that, but the feedback and wonderful reviews from our customers, many of whom have become regulars, has pushed him to drive it forward even more! Those of you who’ve ordered from us will most likely have seen Ryan, not only when collecting, but he’s also the main delivery driver! As for me, I’m Shona. Ryan’s wife! I’m in charge of admin (99% of the time, it’s me who’ll be answering your enquiries and taking orders), social media, packaging, taste testing and bossing Ryan around. I’m actually a Qualified florist of around 14 years, but loving this new venture. We’re a good team! We’ve reached a lot of milestones in our short 6 months and we can’t wait to see what the next 6 months has in store for us! We are Open 7 days a week. Collections and deliveries Mon-Sat and collections only on Sundays. As a home bakery we make fresh to order which means we usually require 24 hours notice for orders, depending on what you’d like. On some occasions we can take same day orders, but again that depends on what you’d like and how quick we can make it, so there’s no harm in asking =)
