One of the easiest cut flowers to grow, comes in so many varieties and will allow you to cut from July to October. Great to fill out garden borders and super pollinator friendly!

General maintenance night on the field tonight strimming and mowing the 6ft thistles 😱 whilst the wasps are still eating away at all the dahlias I couldn't resist picking a few stems for at home.

Everything I grow on the field is cut and come again specifically for cutting, meaning if I stop cutting they will just try to produce seeds instead and we don't want that just yet!

Me and my little helpers have been super busy the last week transporting all the annuals and dahlias across to the field. They have all been grown from seed or tuber, a real labour of love.

Now we have to cross all fingers and toes that 1) the rabbit proof fence is working 2) no mice decide to have a buffet feed on them 3) no birds pluck them out 4) no deer pop along and 5) no extreme weather hits.

Flower farming is a constant gamble with nature but worth it for the product 💕🌿

The warm weather has finally arrived and the risk of frost is 🤞 minimal, meaning all the annuals can head up to the field ready to plant out in the next week or two (all 15 crates of them), not to mention all the dahlias!

The field has been challenging us with the weeds over the last few months but we are slowly getting there and hope to have the field at 75% production this season with lots to offer our growing customer base 😍

24 hours in Holland to visit the Tulip fields 😍 the most incredible experience! We hired E-Choppers and rode 40kms round the Bollenstreek district which is the main bulbs growing area. We saw acres and acres of hyacinth, daffodil and tulip fields - which smell unbelievable. I can't recommend this experience enough if you've ever wanted to go!

I am away this weekend visiting the Tulip fields in Holland so there will be no flowers for sale this weekend, typically just as the new colours have started to bloom!

I've picked all the tulips that were ready so they don't go to waste 😍

Did you know ❓

Daffodils and Narcissus release a sap that can affect other flowers in your vase, killing them off well before they need to. When you cut yours to put in a vase along with other flowers, place the daffodils in some water on their own for around 10/15 minutes until they release all the harmful sap, then pop them in with the others. This will make all the flowers last longer 🌼

Today is cosmos sowing day down at the farm 😍 these are a cut and come again flower that add movement and whimsy to your bouquets from mid summer. They are then left to their own devices after a few months to feed thousands of bees 🐝
