Another blow to the underground music scene

Kings club has closed

Of course, this means that Dubdee is postponed - we hope to return out of another venue after the summer.

Big respect and thanks to Jimmy & Grant at the club for providing us with an opportunity. Behind the scenes they gave heaps of support in different ways which enabled us to run a session.

Thank you to all who made it down to Kings for the very first Dubdee ♥️💛💚

Folk travelled from near & far to reach ✌️

The energy was high all night long and dancefloor full of smiles!

Mighty Oak Sound was sounding incredible all night and the sets from the selectors were smashing! Big thanks and praise to Yah IsReal who kept it going on the mic all session.

I set out to put on a dance after recently moving to Dundee, to find the scene, build a network, and create a platform - we have achieved that 💥

Thanks to all staff at the venue for having us ♥️

I got caught up in it all so much that I didn't take pictures!

Ben & Jofis developed the Mighty Oak Sound system.

They are renowned in the scene not only for the hand built traditional roots reggae system, or their selection which always delves way beneath the surface, but also for the music produced out of the Mighty Oak Studio.

Pioneer of dub music, the late & great Jah Shaka would play the music produced by Jofis at his legedary dances.

It's one big family when Mighty Oak play and on April 19 at Kings Dundee they will bring six bass scoops to string up a sound which is guaranteed to wake the town!

Angus represents Common Unity Sound System and is welcomed as a guest selector at the very first Dubdee.

Angus is resident at Dub Inna Pub and a regular at World Headquarters, Newcastle; a true stalwart of the scene around Tyneside.
Find Angus playing at festivals and stringing up the sound all over the land.

Common Unity have been instrumental in keeping the scene well and truly alive in Newcastle. Angus works hard at pushing reggae & dub forward and plays a conscious selection, guaranteed to keep feet moving, body shaking, and vibes high.

Dubdee welcomes guest selectors Tizzle & Hoof.
They are part of the Dub n Teng Massive out of Newcastle town.

Dub n Teng host a show on Method Radio, Newcastle's only dedicated underground station.
Having played sets at Lindisfarne Festival and sessions around the North East they will warm up the dance at Kings, Dundee, on April 19.

This is their first time playing in Scotland - arrive early as you are sure to hear a fire selection inna Dub n Teng style.
