Absolutely a brilliant Open Mic many thanks to Maddy and Matt for hosting the evening 13 sets played well done to Lewis and Jack for your Open Mic debuts. Ben would have been impressed. Also to Natalia for you debut with Jacob Richardson(videos to follow)
Plus a big thank you to Paul and Steve “Slightly Suspects” with Steve doing an acoustic set. (Video to follow) The next Open Mic will be Friday 27th September

We ended the night with a takeover by Jake, Ben and Ross, who've all been coming to BAOM for years regularly (apart from occasional forays to university). They are super super talented, never fail to entertain us and we love them!

We have a house band to back you if you'd like it, or if you'd prefer to play on your own that's fine too!

And finally, a bittersweet number to close the show from Ben who is moving to That London and reckons he won't be able to come to the open mic night any more! 💔 Ben's been coming since he was a teenager and he said goodbye by playing the first song he ever played here. No YOU'RE crying 💔
Stop whatever you are doing and listen to this voice! Tom is (currently) one of BAOM's youngest regulars, but what a talent he has! Also great hair, which is of course a key component of rock stardom.
Coldplay: some people love them*, some people don't, but we can definitely all agree that Alex's gorgeous version of "We Never Change" is way better than the original! *You've got to admit the first 2 albums are pretty great
We were super happy to have Harry Round Music back with us again and sharing some more of his own songs. This one's called "Moment of Madness" 🎶 Having experienced performers like Harry play with us is great as well as those who come to build their skills and confidence, everyone is welcome!
Danny and Tash absolutely wowed us all - especially our lovely landlord who offered them a gig on the spot! It was their first time at BAOM but definitely not their first time performing, their band Midnight Hour are out playing live most weekends so catch them if you can! We hope Danny and Tash will save the last Friday of every month for us though 💖
Fresh from owning the stage at last weekend's Dursley Rocks festival, Toby and Renée were our next performers. This duo is definitely going places and it's so lovely to see the talented Renée growing in confidence, which is what our open mic night is all about!
Dee's lovely voice elevated this cover of Olivia Rodrigo's "Bloodsucker" to new heights, accompanied by hubby and bassist (hubbassist?) Marcus. We were all sad that they did not bring their dog this month though ☹️
Singer-songwriter duo Kindred Spirit - aka Kate Harper and Stephen Harper - treated us to three originals including this lovely romantic song. It was Kate's first appearance on our stage although Steve has played her songs before. We hope she'll sing for us every month!
Second on the bill on Friday was Dave Lane with his fancy new Jolly Green Giant guitar!
Many thanks to Darren for stepping in at the last minute to run the PA when two-thirds of our usual team couldn't make it! He'd come straight from playing at his wife's school's fete and we don't think he even got to eat his tea beforehand, that's dedication! Look out for Darren's band The Jones Jammers gigging around the local area 🎵
Renee and Toby returned for their second open mic and brought some friends along to support, which we always love to see! 🎸✨ Renee's stunning rendition of a Lana Del Rey song, beautifully accompanied by Toby on guitar, captivated everyone in the room. 🎤❤️ We absolutely love Renee's voice and can't wait to hear more from this talented duo.
A few of us got something in our eyes as singer-songwriter Jennie Boyd played this beautiful original song. 🤗 🎹 Such a lovely voice and genuine talent, we love Jennie!
🎸 🎵🌟 Ben and Jacob brought the house down with their energetic performance of 'Year 3000' by the legendary Busted! 🎸✨ They had everyone singing along, even those of us who are far too old to have any excuse to know the words... 😊
