As the journey to WynterCon X, Eastbourne’s Comic-Con with a twist, continues full speed toward its October destination, announcements are flying left, right and centre about guests, exhibits, sponsors and more! Starting with celebrity guests announcements. This years line-up boasts an incredible roster featuring: Chris Barrie - Red Dwarf, The Brittas Empire and Tomb Raider. Colin Baker - Doctor Who’s sixth incarnation. Clive Mantle - Alien 3, Superman IV and Game Of Thrones. Sandeep Mohan - Star Wars the Force Awakens and Justice League. Carla Mendonça - My Parents Are Aliens and Motor Mouth. Jon Campling - Harry Potter, The Northman.
That’s not all. WynterCon X is also playing host to some amazing exhibits, interactive attractions and photo opportunities this October. So far they have announced a full size and accurate replica of the iconic Ghostbusters vehicle, Ecto-1, and Johnny 5 from the classic 1986 movie, ‘Short Circuit’. A plethora of hand crafted replica props from the movie ‘The Labyrinth’ and even two animatronic baby dragons that are over a whole two metres long!
Another huge highlight is the return of the infamous Cosplay Hall. An entire hall dedicated to the craft of costuming with it’s very own displays, photo opportunities, stage area and adjudicated competition for anyone to enter (and even features prizes for the respective winners). All made possible by the philanthropic, local broadband provider, Lightning Fibre.
Last but certainly not least, the Worksop Hall, in partnership with Sky Creative Sussex, WynterCon’s Charity Partner. This will be filled to the brim with educational workshop tasters based around the charity values including arts, crafts, computer programming and, as always, much more.
If that isn’t enough to sink your teeth into, there will also be a fully featured trade floor filled with hand picked vendors of all varieties including toys, homewares, sweets and treats, prop weapons, tabletop gaming and accessories, jewellery and so much more…. With even more announcements on the way including details for the annual WynterCon after party!
