✨Hello everyone! My name is Ludmila Centurión and I am thrilled to announce I will continue to teach art workshops at the Phoenix for this next part of the year.

🗓️ Starting this *Wednesday 13/09 until Wednesday 11/10* (it’s a 5 week course every Wednesday) from 7 pm until 9.30 pm (great for an after work activity) I will be teaching the workshop 🎨 “Art & ideas”🖌️this one will be directed towards the influence of modern art movements from the XX century onwards, specifically in the work of Latin American artists. We will also have an opportunity to create some sketchbooks where we will be applying some techniques inspired in the work of these artists, so there’s a theoretical but and also a fun, practical side to it!

Whether you have or not an experience in art history or art techniques, you’re welcomed to come. Please invite whomever you’d like! Spanish and Latin American community, and everyone of course, welcomed!

Hello! I'm Ludmila Centurion, I'm from Paraguay 🇵🇾 I've been living in Exeter for two and a half years, I came to study a master's degree at the University of Exeter and stayed to explore the British education system and work in my area, artistic education.

I am pleased to announce that every Wednesday in May and June (plus the early two of July), I begin two art workshops for all people, with or without experience in art. Thank you to all of you that came for the 2nd Rhythms of Latin America event in Exeter on Saturday 8th October.
It was a lot of fun!

I was overwhelmed by the amount of people that attended and helped create such great energy throughout the event.

I want to say a massive thank you to Exeter Community Together, with the support of the National Lottery that make this kind of event possible.

I also want to thank Elliot, Cristopher, Sonja, Kylie, Misael and Fernando for the amazing workshops, you guys were awesome!

Milly has been a musical director and pianist with Cuban Salsa and Latin bands in Havana since 2006. She has collaborated with other well-known Cuban Musicians, such as Nicolas Sirgado and Mayito Ribera; pillars of the popular Cuban and Latin jazz in Cuba.

She is a passionate musician and has performed extensively as a solo pianist/singer, and with her Latin band La Cubana in London and internationally

Providing the opportunity for the public to get involved in various Latin America activities over one day. The activities will include Capoeira, Percussion, Argentinian Folk dancing and Salsa.

This project is completely free to the public & LA-ACC members but we only have limited places so why not sign up today!

Donations are welcome to support the Ukrainian Crisis.
100% of your money will be donated to charities that are supporting Ukrainian families.

Fun, interactive & laidback way for the whole family to bond & exercise. Movement, music rhythm and loads of fun.

11am to 12:15pm Cuban Percussion session with Steve Crossen at Drum Magic

12-2pm Capoeira Angola with Mestre Carlao
Music & Capoeira Angola Workshop
Immerse yourself in true, authentic Brazilian culture as you try your hand at the art of Capoeria Angola, and gain real insights into a vital aspect of Afro-Brazilian history and identity.
Music plays a very important role in Capoeira.

3-4pm Argentinian Folk dancing With Angeles Fiallo Monteiro
Chacarera is a dance and music originated in Santiago del Estero, Argentina.
It’s a popular Creole dance, lively, playful, mischievous, festive and happy. It is
danced in partners and it involves light steps and quick rhythm. During the dance, the male courts the female and tries to win over her love and attention by displaying his complex tap- dancing skills, known as the zapateo. The Woman responds with a Zarandeo - specific swaying of the skirt.

4-5pm Salsa session
The great thing about salsa is that just about anyone can learn it. That's why it has gained vast popularity in the last few decades and is now danced in nightclubs all over the world. There is a well known saying that is often repeated by dance teachers - if you can walk, you can salsa.
