The wait is finally over! 🎉 We’re beyond excited to announce that Cartmel Racecourse will be hosting the one and only Olly Murs as part of his 15 Years of Hits tour.

In addition to his role as a fan-favourite judge on The Voice, Olly is a double platinum selling artist with five number 1 albums. 🎤 On his last tour, Olly wowed audiences, selling over 180,000 tickets across UK arenas, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that he’ll be bringing his highly anticipated show to the stunning setting of Cartmel Racecourse. 🌟

Less than 1 Hour to Go… 🐎🎪

Well, after a fantastic season of racing, live music, and family fun, we're ready to open our gates for one final race day at 10 AM.

Despite the British weather, today’s event is still going ahead, and we have an action-packed day lined up, including:

🏇 7 thrilling races

🎪 A circus performer showcasing incredible tricks

🎨 Face painters to add a splash of colour

🚜 Our mini-tractor maze for some farmyard fun

🎠 A funfair filled with excitement for all ages

Please come prepared! Our grounds are wet, so bring along a waterproof jacket and some sturdy footwear to make the most of our final race day of 2024.

We can’t wait to welcome you once more for a final farewell to this season.

Heading to Dave Day in Barrow on 8 June?

Please remember with so many visitors expected, it’s inevitable there will be increased traffic and some disruption on the roads, particularly during the afternoon and up to around 9pm - please be aware and plan your journey accordingly!

Some useful information:

▶️ The main procession of bikers is expected from mid-afternoon. It will travel along the A590 to Barrow, turning along Park Road and then down Abbey Road to the town centre, turning on to Hindpool Road and then finishing at the Town Hall.

▶️ Any motorists are strongly advised to AVOID the route, particularly Hindpool Road, while the procession makes its way through Barrow (timings approximately 4pm to 6pm) to avoid significant delays and keep the route clear for the bikers and emergency services.

▶️ A number of town centre roads will be closed during the afternoon of 8 June between 3pm and 11pm around the vicinity of the Town Hall to support the safety of the thousands of visitors expected for Dave Day.

▶️ With so many people visiting, car parking in the town centre could be limited on 8 June. Please do not park illegally or inconsiderately in residential areas.

▶️ Locals planning to travel to Barrow for Dave Day may wish to consider available public transport options.

We’re looking forward to extending a warm Barrow welcome to all Dave Day visitors. Enjoy the day and celebrate Dave Myers’ life, but please do this in a respectful and safe way!

It's race day tomorrow! 🎉

We are all set for our Season Opener Saturday!

Are you ready for a fantastic day of racing? We have music all afternoon, a huge variety of trade stalls, some mouth-watering food and drink and even a mini-Cartmel show! If you're more focused on the racing, then do feel free to make your base and bring along your own food and drink for the day's excitement.

The going is currently soft, good-to-soft in places. The rest of the site is fine under foot, but comfy waterproof shoes would be advisable. We have made adjustments to the layout to ensure racegoers are clear of areas which can become waterlogged.

Paddock parking is now sold out, so those without parking spots - please head for the course public parking.

If you have a course ticket but would like an upgrade to the paddock side, you can do this upon entry to the course.

The horses will make their way to the parade ring around 45 minutes before the first race, so we advise that all racegoers are through the entrance by 15:10pm, after which there are track closures to allow for horse movements.

Please come and support us for our season opener and most importantly - have a great day of racing at our unique and special racecourse.
