Apologies, but I am no longer offering photography or videography as any form of service. The lockdown played a big part in this decision - I guess I just lost interest in both! Thanks for all the support over the last couple of years, but now it's time to focus on other things. I will be keeping the page live, perhaps uploading some personal photos/videos, if I take any. I'd like to just take photos or make videos as a hobby and enjoy it, rather than feel obliged to do it.

The third and final part of our series of mini films about TEDxFolkestone - an independently organised event, organised under licence from TED

It’s not just the speakers and performers who go on a journey to their big day on the red circle.

You may not have realised until now, but is run entirely by volunteers. All the planning, preparations, support, marketing, ticketing, staging and post-event activity organised by a team of people who love making it all happen.

In ‘The Volunteers Journey’ you’re going to meet a few of the volunteers who helped to make up the video team behind the ‘behind the scenes’ filming of TEDxFolkestone - understood to be the first project of its kind across the global TED and TEDx community.

This short film is especially exciting for us to share with the world because the Director and Editor is Hanne Jessen, the youngest member of the team. We are all about encouraging learning and development and it has been fantastic to see Hanne’s talent and confidence shine.

In the mini documentary, you’ll hear from Curator Batchelor and Executive Producer Mike Hacker ‘Hax’ how the ‘behind the scenes’ film project began and what they were looking for from the video team.

Three of the team - Hanne Jessen, Lucy P**n and Spinks - share their journey. They reveal why they got involved, the challenges they faced and what the project meant to them.

COVID UPDATE

Hi All!

I just wanted to put a message out there to everyone who wants photos taken or a video made. Since the government guidelines have been relaxed, I am getting a sudden influx of interest (which is fantastic) for an array of exciting opportunities. However, I just want to confirm that I am not partaking in any photography or videography work until I return to my full time job. As many of you know, I do have a full time office job, of which I am currently on furlough leave. The date for my return has not yet been confirmed. I am also not prepared to risk my young family contracting COVID 19 as I believe the risk is still very much there, regardless to the government guidelines being relaxed. I can but only apologise for this decision, and I hope you understand. Hopefully normality will resume soon! I will update once I am able to take bookings. Thanks a lot. Stay safe 🙂

NEWBORN BABY'S FIRST BATH!!! SUPER CUTE!!!

Obviously with the UK essentially on 'lock down', I can't get out to take photos or make videos :( BUT...luckily for me, I have a great model (or a few) that I can make videos of right here at home!

Not all is doom and gloom right now. I can’t express how excited my partner and I are with the imminent arrival of our second son. We left it a bit late given the birth is literally around the corner, but here’s some pregnancy shots I took yesterday 🙂

Absolutely crazy morning out with some friends taking photos of Folkestone sea front during Storm Ciara. Never again. Visibility was really poor which meant we didn't get the shots that we all wanted, and it was actually dangerous too with waves launching pebbles at us. We were there 20 minutes at most before giving in and going home. Believe it or not, this was about an hour before the storm fully hit us here in Folkestone.

Congratulations to Luke Thomas Howell-Burne and Joanne Howell-Burne on their wedding yesterday! It was a beautiful ceremony, held at incredible venues for both the wedding itself and the reception. It was a privilege to be part of the wedding, and I am so thankful for the hospitality that Luke, Jo and both sides of the family showed towards me and my family. I wish them both the best luck and happiness for the future!

Photography - on a budget!

Hi, my name is Mike Hull and I am Photographer/Videographer based in Folkestone, Kent. Since becoming a father of one, I have adopted a firm belief that everyone should have access to good, high quality photos of their memories. Families should have photos that they can look back on in the future and relive that moment. However, sometimes the cost of a photographer can limit this opportunity. It is also often the case that you, “Get what you pay for”. Well, this is where I come in. I want to provide you with professional-standard photos, but at a reasonable, and affordable price! I don’t include prints in my packages, which cuts the cost straight away - I just charge you for my time. However, I do have an online store where you can purchase prints if you wish! Once the photos that I took at your event/shoot are ready, I will send you a link, (with a PIN code for private entry) to your own personal gallery located on my store. Here, you can download your digital, high-quality, watermark-free photos, (which are included in most of my packages!). For example, this doesn’t mean you get 5 or 10 free digital photos from your wedding and then have to pay for any extra...With my packages you can download all of the images from the gallery, and it’s included in the package price! As mentioned, through the link I provide, you can then easily choose the photos you love, and order prints at an additional cost, (which are still extremely reasonable) - my store can provide sizes from 6x4, all the way up to a metal 40x30 print! I use a well established, professional printing lab - you will be very impressed with the quality! I tend to shoot mainly Events, i.e Weddings/Christenings/Parties/Gigs & Concerts/Press-work, but I also have experience with on-location, (outside) family shoots, pet photography, and cars/bikes, (including static and panning shots at circuits). I am always open to ideas with photography, and don’t limit myself. If you have any needs, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] specifying the service you require, and we can go from there!
