We are so pleased to unveil our fresh new colours for the hall. Sympathetic to the age and heritage of the building, we think this freshen up really opens up and brightens the space. We hope you all enjoy it!

As we have just been clearing up some odd jobs around the hall - we thought it was time for a little…

PROGRESS UPDATE:

- Website: our website is now up and running in preparation for moving bookings online.
- Accessible Toilets: the toilets have now been refitted with accessibility in mind.
- Driveway Resurfacing: the drive has been resurfaced again to make it more accessible to all.
- Heating: the antiquated and inefficient heaters have been replaced with modern radiators while we look for longer term eco heating solutions.
- Defibrillator: the hall is now equipped with an AED courtesy of ESSO.
- Chairs: the hall now has modern lightweight chairs that everyone can use with ease with the help of our local councillors.

NEXT STEPS:

- Stabilise Flooring: we are in the process of making plans to restore and stabilise the halls 130 year old maple floor.
- Decorating: then we will repair and restore the walls following all the other work.
- Kitchen: finally we will look to modernise the kitchen space.

We are so grateful to Cllr Jacques Olmo, Councillor Helen Whitcroft and Cllr Sashi Mylvaganam for supporting us with a Ward Councillor Grant to help us replace the chairs at the hall.

For something so simple, the chairs that have served the hall for so many years were extremely heavy and cumbersome. This unfortunately made them inaccessible to some of our hirers who simply could not lift them and were forced to look for alternative venues.

These new chairs are another big step towards making the hall accessible to all and we are certain they will bring benefit to all of the community who use the venue.

Thank you once again as we continue our journey to bring this beautiful asset up to the latest standards …

The Defibrillator has arrived!

The Frimley Village Hall now has the defibrillator that we had started fund raising for!

The defibrillator was donated by Esso to the village of Frimley Green , acknowledging the disruption caused by the pipe line works that everyone in the village has been affected by.

Thanks go Esso and to the wonderful Frimley Green Carnival committee, they negotiated two defibrillators as part of the procession negotiations and in response to local residents requests to have defibrillators in the village they then nominated The Frimley Village Hall to house one.

Big thank you also to Kevin Knight and High Spec Electrics who kindly installed it on the front of the hall.

Well done to all those that helped fund raise at our stall Surrey Heath Show towards this. The money you all raised towards a defibrillator will be donated to an appropriate charity, we were some way off the target needed so it is fantastic we have been donated one.

Please have a look next time you go by the hall and be sure to tell your friends where it is.

Thank you very much to all those who stopped by on what was a lovely day, talking to some wonderful people! Your generosity (and notably the support of so many of our hirers clients!) meant that we were able to raise £225, taking us to nearly 20% of our target to install a defibrillator at the hall! We would also like to thank Surrey Heath Mayor Helen Whitcroft for dropping by to discuss some additional funding options that may be available help us in our quest to complete the necessary works and continue to improve this asset for the community! We are also looking forward to continuing our discussions with some of the wonderful charities that we spoke to about how we can help each other in the future. Thank you once again for all your support and we look forward to seeing many of you soon...

The Frimley Village Hall team will be at The Surrey Heath Show tomorrow! Games, tattoos, sweets and more... even the chance to win FREE sweets (check our page again in the morning!) – why not come along and see us, even if just for a chat! All funds raised will go towards funding an Automated External Defibrillator at the hall. Donations are also welcome.

Life Saving Defibrillator: As awareness of heart health increases, we would like to help build on the great work of others in the community to make defibrillators readily accessible across our villages. The village hall is another prime location to position one of these amazing life saving devices and make them easily accessible to any members of the public should they need them.
