Although I absolutely loved this, I don't feel sad that today should have been Barraloadsoul's annual event dayer which began in 2014, things change and we had a successful run every year. My profound apologies to anyone who felt let down by my cancelling the gig, and I feel a little sad that I will miss a lot of people I would have seen at the alldayer. Just a big thank you to all the DJs who were going to play and who played over the years, to the fabulous Barras staff, especially Tom the manager, a great support and friend, to Karen and Alex and the rest of the team, without whose help it would never have been the success it was, to all the services people, sound guy Stevie and the rest of the gang, the load in/out crew. It was a mammoth task for all involved. But to the ticket buyers, thank you all so much, to all the regulars and everyone who turned up every year, so many far travelled. To my besties Tam and Annmarie, of Keniichimages, there are never enough thanks to you both for all the gazillions of photos taken over the years, you both work so hard. We have our wee monthly club going great now, since October. My dear friend Don Morris is playing next month, Don, from Sheffield, was to play today at Barraloadsoul but changed his bookings so that he can play at the BMW soul club in July, guesting along with other good friend Debs Broon, from Dundee and resident Franki McGraw. Just an extra big thank you to everyone who made Barraload the success it was. Will see a bunch of you at Piper Soul later. Love and peace to you all, Get 💜

Hi everyone. Geraldine here. It's with regret that I have to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are having to cancel Barraloadsoul. The main reason is the astronomical costs involved, which have increased greatly during recent times. Barrowland management have been very supportive throughout the years, however, they, as well as all the services involved, are having to deal with increasing costs also. My main concern is letting people down, but I do assure you, you will have our support to recoup any costs incurred with your bookings. If you go to the Tickets Scotland website, you can request a refund for your tickets. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. Thanks to every one of you who have attended Barraloadsoul over the years and for your continued support. I will always be eternally grateful to you, our friends, the paying public, to all the DJs who played, from 2014 on, to Tam and Annmarie, our resident snappers and great friends, to my sidekick Karen and hubby Alex, our resident DJs Alex, Gary, Acky, my pals Ann and Tom, all of you, and to all the team, the Barras staff especially Tom the Manager. Wishing all of you a lovely Christmas and all the very best for 2023. It's been a difficult couple of years for everyone due to Covid, however, we were so pleased to have Barraload back again this year and seeing many familiar and new faces. Come on in and join our new group, keep up to speed with what's happening at the BMW Soul Club, drop in to the club in Blantyre every first Sunday of the month (except Jan 1st as the club is closed), post comments in the group, music, anything soul related. No politics or selling stuff that belongs on the sale groups, no drama, just a bunch of likeminded people having fun. I'll probably convert the Barraloadasoul Page to a Group as there are too many restrictions on here, I may get FB jail for that comment. 😆

Our monthly afternoon soul club is coming along nicely. The club is closed 1st Jan but we'll be there for the Christmas Party 4th Dec. and every first Sunday of the month after January. Cheap drinks at the bar, fab food, a beautiful venue, top DJs and their tunes. Already folks making the club their regular. DM me, or call for details. This is the BMW Club and not Barraloadasoul, our other event.
