Happy birthday to us! We are 4!

Back in 2019 we started with just an idea and a spreadsheet. 4 years later we certainly have a lot of reusable plates! 😆

We have members who’s been here since before our network even had a name.

We have new members who have joined us from countries across the world. 🌎

All have one thing in common - a desire to help their communities celebrate a little more sustainably.

Thank you to all our members who have embraced our mission and found space and time in their lives to make reusable tableware more accessible.

We also have Decorations Party Kits, which contain tablecloths (oilcloth or fabric) and room and table decorations. Our Eco Party Kits contain reusable, beautiful and practical tableware and decorations so there is no need to buy disposable Party Ware 🌍 We have high quality sets in Stylish Bamboo and Shatterproof Plastic. Both come in Pastel and Vibrant colours. We also have some patterned Bamboo sets. We use plastic, as it is easy to clean, safe and hard wearing and of course, reusable. These kits are used again and again ✅♻️💚
We include both bamboo and plastic so that we can cater for different types of parties. Children’s parties at venues and street parties lend themselves to plastic tableware. Whereas, the bamboo tableware looks fabulous at smaller celebrations where you want something more stylish.
Our Eco Party Kits contain plates, bowls, cups, cutlery as well as serving bowls and platters, snack bowls and jugs or drinks dispensers. We also have cake or cupcake stands. The Mad Hatter’s Eco Party Kit has joined the Reuse Revolution with The Party Kit Network (https://partykitnetwork.org). It was started by Isabel Mack in June 2019. The idea is simple and brilliant 💡🤩 A box of reusable tableware and decorations hired out in the local community to be used, returned and made ready for its next outing 💚♻️✅

When the Mad Hatter’s joined in February 2020, there were already 350 kits registered in the UK. Today many more kits have been added, not just in the UK 🇬🇧 but also Ireland 🇮🇪 Australia 🇦🇺 South Africa 🇿🇦 New Zealand 🇳🇿 Canada 🇨🇦 and the United States 🇺🇸

The Party Kit Network is a non-profit Community Interest Company, which means that any money raised is reinvested to achieve its social purpose. All Party Kits are independently run, but we all work together to drive the main aim of the network forward.
To prevent tonnes of disposable party tableware and decorations entering the environment and landfill offering a sustainable alternative - a box full of reusable, beautiful and practical party- ware. 💚♻️✅

As well as helping to make celebrations, parties or even working lunches a little greener, the Party Kits aim to save you time and money and are convenient and easy to hire.

Hello and Welcome to The Mad Hatter’s Eco Party Kit In A Box! I am Annie and I run the Eco Party Kit alongside my other enterprise - Mad Hatter’s Pop Up Party Shop (which stocks great gifts and goodies for Party And Busy Bags, Stocking Fillers and Birthday Gifts).

Just over a year ago I was ready to launch my Party Kit, but then all our lives changed.

But now there is a light at the end of the tunnel. So I am getting ready for that day when we can gather with our friends to celebrate again 👗☀️🥂🎂

We are a family that loves parties and celebrations but we do hate the waste that comes with disposable paper and plastic tableware and decorations, which invariably ends up in landfill. This is the reason I joined The Party Kit Network, set up the Mad Hatter’s Eco Party Kit and hire out our reusable tableware and decorations 🎩

I thought for my return to Instagram, I would start by introducing myself. This is a picture of me in my happy place- by the sea, walking along our beautiful coastal paths (just before my granddaughter got me with her supersoaker). I have been lucky enough to travel to some breathtaking places on our planet 🌍

It matters to me as a scientist and as a parent & grandparent that we take care of our environment and address the climate crisis and global warming. The Eco Party Kit means we can party with the planet in mind 🌈🥳🍹

Over the next few posts I will tell you about The Party Kit Network, what is in my Party Kit, run a competition for a free hire to celebrate that we can party again and tell you about our values and what we donate to with our kit hires. 💚♻️✅🌎

💚an update💚 Five long months ago I was ready to launch the Mad Hatter’s Eco Party Kit. This is a box full of reusable and beautiful party tableware and decorations which is hired out in the local community (Haddenham, Thame, Tetsworth, Princes Risborough, Aylesbury and the villages in the surrounding area). The aim is to reduce the waste from disposable plastic and paper. At this moment, I do not feel comfortable restarting. It feels odd encouraging parties and get togethers when the pandemic is ongoing and I do not want to unwittingly aid the transmission of the virus. What a difference a week makes! I was ready to launch the Mad Hatter's Eco Party Kit this week, but I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do. Now the government has changed its strategy to contain the coronavirus pandemic. We have all been asked to stop non-essential contact with other people and avoid all unnecessary travel. This means that the hire of our party kits is on hold until we all get through the next few difficult months. When the time is right we will be ready to party again 🥳 and look forward to help you make your next celebration eco-friendly and zero waste 🎉🥳 Stay safe everyone 💜

Making Parties and Celebrations a Little Greener! 🎂🥳🎉🎁🎏🥂
The Party Kit Network was set up by Isabel Mack in 2019 in collaboration with Dian Sofia (Zero Waste Near Me) to make it easier for everyone to reduce waste but still have fun. All Party Kits are run independently. Our kits will contain reusable partyware with plates, bowls cups and cutlery, as well as serving trays and bowls. They are all food safe, bisphenol A free, and dishwasher safe (and they are ordered and on their way👍). The kits will also include bunting, paper decorations and table cloths. Our aim is to supply all the tableware you need so that there is no need to buy disposable partyware. Hiring a kit can reduce both the carbon footprint of your party and the waste going to landfill without compromising on the fun ☺️💚☺️♻️
