Bright and colourful flowers that smell as good as they look 😊 Always looking to include fragrance, it’s so disappointing when you stick your nose into flowers and can’t smell anything!
Do you like your flowers to smell good too?

We are at the end of October and the flowers are still giving! No sign of a frost on the forecast, how@long will it last? At least now we have had “some” rain I can put the bulbs in!

It's British flowers week! British flowers are usually a little less prim, often a bit fragile so they don't transport across the ocean well and therefore maybe a little less well known. But they are also gorgeously beautiful, fabulously fragrant and totally seasonal.
This garden bouquet has lots of different flowers, but what makes it so special is the fragrance, it smells of a gorgeous summer day in an English garden! It includes roses, sweet peas, philadelphus, lavender and mint. I wish you could take a sniff!

Growing things that are not what were promised! These Tulips were meant to be Menton Exotic. A gorgeous pinky coral colour, not yellow orange! At least I didn’t order loads, but still, it happens often enough that it would make me nervous if I was growing to order. These have been growing for months, I can’t correct this, you just have to go with it, but it is not easy when you like to be a little bit, even a teensy weensy bit in control 😂
Did you get any surprises in your bulbs this year?

February really does belong to the snowdrops.

So strong yet so delicate. Appearances can be so deceiving! 😉

The strident yellow daffs and a few hellebores start to sneak in at the end of this month too and it all starts to feel very exciting even if the wind is bitterly cold at the moment!

Most of the activity is not very pretty at this time of year, seed sowing and prepping beds.
