This coming Tuesday 30/07/2024 QAMC presents 'Singers Night' with a half set featuring Peter Taylor.
Peter has a most adept and gentle guitar style and always manages to pick just the right songs. He is a mild mannered gentleman but always wows his audience with his performances. If you haven't heard Peter come along and you will not be disappointed.
As usual we will have half the evening as a singers night and hand over to Peter for the second half.

QAMC presents Carrie Martin Tuesday 23/07/2024.
Carrie is a true born and bred Yorkshire lass, From Hull. She first picked up a guitar at the age of four and made her first public performance at the tender age of nine, playing at a school concert.
Many years later in 2014, she finally put out her first full album, entitled “What If”, on which she was joined as guest musicians by Gordon Giltrap but also Oliver Wakeman (son of Rick) and Ric Sanders from Fairport Convention.
This is what Gordon Giltrap has to say about Carrie.
It’s pretty obvious from the moment you hear Carrie Martin sing that she is an outstanding vocalist with passion in each breath.
Don’t be too sidetracked by that voice and stage persona and well crafted songs, because you might just miss the fact that she is a fine guitar player as well!

Hello All,
I hope this finds everyone safe and well.
QAMC presents 'John & Lynn Ward' Tuesday 09/07/2024.
John and Lynn have been at the club a couple of times in the past and never fail to intrigue and entertain.
John has achieved an excellent reputation as a writer of powerful, thought-provoking and witty songs that draw upon his life in a gritty port town, his wider travels in the world, and often capture the spirit of the times. He accompanies himself on guitar and is excellent on th bodhran.
Lynn on harmonies and piano accordian adds that fuller sound.
Unfortunately Les the bass player of the trio is unable to make the gig but John and Lynn will entertain us all.
Yet another terrific evening at QAMC.

QAMC presents 'Dougie Mackenzie & Brian Miller' Tuesday 25/06/2024.
Dougie Mackenzie sang mostly Gaelic songs in his youth but was later introduced to the wider folk music world. He is drawn to Scots ballad language and the stories it carries to us from the past.
Brian Miller is one of the most esteemed singers and guitarists on the Scottish traditional music scene with performing and recording credits including with his daughter Siobhan Miller, The Occasionals, The Singing Kettle and Tom Paxton. He is still a member of The Stars Band with Arthur Johnstone, Charlie Soane and Gavin Livingstone. In January 2024 Brian was inducted in to The Scottish Tradional Music Hall OF Fame, this hounor was well deserved .
Recently Brian and Dougie have joined forces in the studio and on stage.
Yet another terrific evening at QAMC.

Originally from Wrexham in North Wales, Chris emigrated to Scotland in 1982 and has been active in the Scottish folk scene since the 1990s and has been a member at QAMC for a few years now.
A prolific songwriter with an adept guitar style and a distinctive voice. He is always a welcome part of our singers nights and will always entertain. This night will be no exception.
As usual we will have half the evening as a singers night and hand over to Chris for the second half.

QAMC presents 'Hoolet' Tuesday 11/06/2024.
The magic really happens when Maggie, Ronnie and Helen get together and play. Their impressive blend of traditional folk tunes, covers of contemporary acoustic music and Ronnie’s stunning original songs has been met with universal praise wherever they’ve played.
There is a genuine buzz around this trio of outstanding musicians – they all come from very different backgrounds but this is very much a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts; individually they are impressive but together they absolutely shine.

Bob Knight is a folk/traditional singer based in Aberdeen. As well as traditional songs, he also writes his own material in traditional Scottish style. With a very distinctive north east accent and strong singing voice he accompanies himself on guitar.

Originally from 'God's own country'. Mel was born in Sheffield but has lived in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire for many years.
From songs about his Grandad and Lloyd George to songs of the sea. In particular songs about the seaside. The Stripey tent and Punch and Judy galore.
Mel will entertain all.

QAMC presents 'Elizabeth & Jameson' Tuesday 09/04/2024.
Hannah Elizabeth and Griff Jameson have joined forces to create an acoustic folk-roots sound. Together, Elizabeth & Jameson offer classic song writing at its best with a stripped back harmony driven sound accompanied by acoustic guitar, violin and exquisite vocals.
Their debut studio album, Northern Shores & Stories, released in 2020, has been receiving critical acclaim across the acoustic folk-roots community.
Recent festival highlights include Cambridge Folk Festival and the Great British Folk Festival.
The duo's newest EP Dead Ends & Hand Me Downs was released in autumn 2022 alongside a tour of live dates around the UK.

QAMC presents 'Robert Lane' Tuesday 26/03/2024.
Robert Lane is a musician, songwriter, actor and guitar tutor based in the UK. He has toured extensively and released four albums.
As an actor he works in theatre and film and is a founding member of short form comedy improvisation group Improv Wolves. As a guitar teacher he works with students of all ages and abilities.
Robert is also the host of The Robert Lane Creative Careers Podcast where he chats to creatives including musicians, songwriters, actors, writers, comedians and journalists about their careers and how they create their work.

QAMC presents 'The Lost Trades' Tuesday 19/03/2024.
The Lost Trades are a Folk/Americana trio, based in the West Country, with a cool Laurel Canyon vibe. With a sound that is reminiscent of the California folk scene of the late 60s/early 70s, their three-part harmonies have been described as "flawless", "spine tingling" and "magical".
