Well, this was a bit different!

A little while ago, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Kasia and James’ wedding, and it was definitely one to remember! Kasia got ready at the beautiful Midland Hotel, and with Armed Forces Day in full swing (including a parachute jump!), the roads were packed and closed off. Despite the chaos, we managed to get her to the Priory in Lancaster just in time to meet James, the love of her life, and say their “I do’s.”

Afterwards, we made our way to the only place that made sense for James, a true Morecambe FC fan - the reception at Morecambe Football Club, of course! Where else! It wasn’t long before the amazing Mark Caudle had everyone up waving their napkins and laughing hysterically and the incredible Rod Williams entertained people with his mind-reading and magic. I spent a little time grabbing some portraits before capturing the obligatory wedding party photo from the pitch - yes, I was privileged to walk on it!

It was such an incredible, hot summer day filled with love, laughter, and some unforgettable moments including losing a camera battery, a guest pulling a moony in the group photos and more! A huge thanks to Morecambe FC for their hospitality! Here’s a sneak peek!

Great to be back at Broadoaks after several years of hiatus! A few things have changed - the swing is nailed down, there’s a railing around the fountain (some idiot probably fell in or decided to go for a swim - I suppose, if you know, you know!) and a few new buildings have popped up here and there. I’m pleased to report that the staff are still as lovely as ever, especially Izzy who was incredibly attentive and helped make the day run as smoothly as ever, all in all, it was nice to be welcomed back for Amanda and Keith’s wedding. These two were an absolute scream! Trying to get a serious photo proved to be err challenging and I don’t think I’ve laughed so much for ages! Congrats to them and a big thanks for inviting me along! Last month, Roxie and Drew secretly eloped to the stunning Cragwood Country House Hotel to tie the knot. They had planned to surprise their family with the news at a gathering a few weeks later, showing off their beautiful photos. Of course, Mum was in on the secret from the start—after all, it’s nearly impossible to keep something like this from Mum! She even joined us via video chat.

It was such a pleasure and a privilege to be part of Roxie and Drew’s day, both as their photographer and as a witness. Their ceremony was the sweetest, with personalised vows, and I have to admit, I wasn’t the only one who shed a tear for them! They were amazing to work with (especially as Drew didn’t like having his photo taken!) and Holly and her team at the Cragwood were incredible as usual. Wishing this incredible couple all the happiness in the world!

Wow! What a wedding! Definitely one of my favourites so far this year and my first time at this stunning venue! Hannah and Danny celebrated in style last month at the Eden Wedding Barn in Kirkby Stephen, one of the best venues I’ve been to and if you’re getting married, it's worth checking out! Hannah made a grand entrance in a beautifully renovated Morris Minor 1000 which held special significance as it was the same vehicle that her grandfather had used to drive her mother to her wedding - it was just beautiful in every way!

The guests were transported in style as well, arriving in classic coaches - adding that little bit of vintage charm. There were lots of standout features but it would be remiss of me not to mention the wedding cake, adorned with exquisite sugar flowers, each one meticulously hand-crafted by Hannah’s mother.
Despite the weather throwing everything it had at us from nuclear sunshine followed by strong winds, and rain just when it was time for photos (ruddy typical!), Hannah and Danny braved the elements enabling us to get some corking photos. Danny and his Best Man, Tom, then put on their superhero cloaks and we bedded in for paella and a good old Ceilidh from Eden Valley Ceilidh Band

So a little while ago Bryson contacted me, he was visiting from Singapore with his girlfriend and wanted to pop the question. June in the Lakes can be mega busy so we opted for a super early start! Big thanks to Brackens of Bowness for opening early for me to collect a beautiful bouquet that I hid inside the Temple of Heroes for him! So romantic…but that’s not all, Bryson had also had a photo book made of all of their adventures together!

Wishing this amazing couple all the very best for their future together! Congrats :)

Gemma and Luke contacted me some time ago to shoot their big day over at Bardsea Olde Mill and I’m glad they did. Amazingly, it was my first time at this beautiful venue and it didn’t disappoint! It was so lovely to be welcomed by the owners and made to feel at home amongst Gemma and Luke’s friends and family who were equally as amazing! Gemma and Luke were hilarious and had me in stitches throughout the day! We celebrated in style; filled our belly with the finest food and then hopped over the road to grab some sunset photos on Bardsea beach - dodging the dog sh** along the way of course! What an absolute laugh we had! Thanks for being amazing! Here are a few frames.

Well, it seems like forever ago now but I’m just catching up after having the busiest May/June ever!! I met Matthew earlier in the spring this year to discuss his and Laura’s plans to have their wedding celebration at the Yan in Grisedale. Back then, the trees were bare, the weather was miserable and everything looked just a little bit grey! It was hard to imagine what things would look like at the time but fast forward to wedding day at the end of May, and it was a whole different story! The sun was shining and everything was in bloom! In the morning I met Laura who was getting ready over at her parent’s house in Satterthwaite as she anxiously awaited Matt’s arrival for the first look, before heading over to the Yan for some couples photos and a proper English celebration! What an amazing day and a fantastic atmosphere! Here are a few frames.

A month ago today I met up with Max and Sera, their families and incredible friends for an amazing wedding ceremony at an undisclosed location followed by their reception at Carus Green Golf Club

So, I received a message from someone who wanted to book their wedding photography with me the other day who asked if I was still a wedding photographer because they hadn’t seen me post on social media for a while. I’m aware that I’ve been a little quiet on the socials but yes, I’m still here! These last couple of months (well actually, the last year or so) have been a complete whirlwind! I’ve not stopped! I’ve been busy with commercial photography work for various companies both big and small, photographed weddings and elopements, been busy filming and I’ve also just moved home! So in the spirit of getting back ‘on it’ so to speak, here’s a few frames from one of my favourite so far this year…  …a little while back I met these two beautiful people! Jacqueline and Colin invited me along to witness and photograph their elopement - it’s fair to say that never before have I seen two people so in love! Oil and Sam rocked their engagement shoot! When the day came it was freezing cold, there was horizontal rain and even hail but never-the-less they seized the moment! Bundled up against the elements, they laughed and danced amidst the chaos, embracing life's unpredictability. As their photographer, witnessing their genuine connection amidst what could only be described as a proper Lake District day, was nothing short of inspiring. Those raw, real moments captured in the midst of adversity perfectly documented their love story, reminding me that perfection lies in embracing life's imperfections. They first danced in the rain before taking the plunge at the end of the shoot and getting into the water to allow me to create some unforgettable moments for them. Congratulations!

Just had the most incredible engagement shoot with Antonia and Logan in the Lakes! Nine and a half years of love led to a magical proposal in Iceland, and of course, Antonia said YES, so what better way than to mark this time in their lives than a photoshoot! The first wedding of 2024 and wow, it did not disappoint! I spent the most amazing day in the Lakes with Jodie and Dave as they officially became Mr. & Mrs. at the dreamy Cragwood Hotel and Country House! ❄️

Yesterday was all about love, laughter, and trying not to slip on the icy paths! 😅 The Cragwood looked like a fairytale with snow-covered landscapes, we utilised the spiral art that someone had so kindly created on the lawn, and the sun even decided to join the party! 🌞 We wanted to venture down to the lake for epic shots, but the ice had other plans, so we played it safe and stayed close to the hotel.

Every love story is unique, and Jodie and Dave's day was nothing short of magical. Cheers to the newlyweds and the beautiful memories created in the winter wonderland of Cragwood Country House Hotel! Here's a sneak peek! 🥂✨

Last week was an absolute whirlwind of emotions as we celebrated Rachael and Stuart tying the knot at the picturesque Lindeth Howe

Despite our attempted escape to the lakes with The Mountain Goat Tour Company the rain just wouldn't let up. But you know what? Rachael and Stuart didn't let that rain on their parade. Instead, they embraced the weather with open hearts, turning what could have been a soggy situation into a beautiful and unforgettable day filled with love.

A massive shoutout to the incredible couple and to all of their friends and family for their resilience and positivity, proving that no amount of rain can wash away the warmth of true love. Last week, Chelsea and Alex celebrated their enchanting elopement at the picturesque Cragwood Country House Hotel. Despite the looming threat of inclement weather, their dream of an outdoor wedding prevailed. Anticipating the rain, they opted to begin the ceremony a bit earlier than planned. As fate would have it, halfway through the vows, the heavens opened up, prompting the couple to seek refuge under the pergola.

Hats off to this resilient duo, who faced the unpredictable November weather with grace and courage. Undeterred by the persistent rain and chilly temperatures, we ventured close to the main building, ready to escape the elements if conditions worsened. I met up with Heather and Dion a little while back when they flew in from Jersey for some Lakes time before their big day. These two are absolutely awesome and embraced everything that the autumn weather had to throw at them on their wedding day! Here are a few snapshots from their elopement. I've been so busy recently that I haven't had time to post anything. So here goes:
Charlie and Luke reached out some time ago to book a post-wedding shoot, and boy, did we create some magic! Their photographer didn’t get many shots of just the two of them at their wedding, so they asked me to capture some images to mark the occasion for them. 🤩📷

We set off on a picturesque adventure, strolling through Surprise View, capturing the charm of Ashness Bridge, and exploring the serene beauty of the lower Derwent Water.

A little while ago, Bundeet reached out to me with an incredible plan. He was gearing up to pop the big question to his girlfriend, Priya, and asked me to capture that moment discreetly. 📸💍

After exploring various options in the Lake District and considering the bustling season, Bundeet chose the exquisite Lake House at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, where they were staying, as the backdrop for his proposal. The Lake House boasts awe-inspiring views of Knipe Tarn, and it's nothing short of stunning! 😍

About a week before the big day, I made my way over for a little reconnaissance mission. I scouted out the perfect spot behind the private jetty, ensuring an elevated vantage point with an excellent view.

On the actual proposal day, Bundeet discreetly slipped away, just ten minutes before the pivotal moment. We had a brief, final chat to confirm our strategy. When the time came, he and Priya walked hand in hand past me, greeting me as they went by. I, in turn, exchanged greetings, maintaining the guise of just another guest. Moments later, the magic unfolded as Bundeet posed the question.

After the proposal, we captured some poignant moments of the newly engaged couple, lost in the warm embrace of their love. Here's a handful of frames from that extraordinary day. 📷✨

Michaela and Mark, a Lake District Elopement at Lakeside Hotel & Spa

\\ And so… // ...we made a little film. A short while ago, Michaela and Mark got in touch, they wanted a short cinematic film of their elopement at the Lakeside Hotel and Spa; something that they would be able to share with their friends and family without having to sit through hours and hours of speeches and vows. Having bounced a few ideas about with Rich, over at Reel Things we both agreed that this would be a lovely little film that we’d like to make together. So, we met Michaela and Mark down where they live and drafted out a few ideas. When the big day came, everything went mostly to plan…apart from the mad dash to quickly move inside five minutes before the ceremony! Great British weather and all that!
