Com Bossa . . . ♥️

Where does it come from and why on earth did we choose it for our business name?

Well, waaaaay back in 2005 we were planning our honeymoon to Brazil (until we realised the weather wasn’t the best there in July and swiftly changed our minds!)

But, the romanticism of the country stayed with us and we felt a real connection with it when we were thinking of our business name.

In Rio de Janeiro, if you are dancing with passion, playing with joy or simply exuding your own unique style you may hear someone cry ‘com bossa!’

While there is no direct translation the spirit of com bossa is to do it with passion, do it with style and do it in your own unique way.

Couldn’t think of a more fitting name for our brand! ♥️

We take a different approach to design. Less is more. A design is complete not when you can no longer add anything to it but when you can no longer take anything away.

We celebrate love and connection in every and all of its wondrous ways.

A few months ago we were absolutely delighted to hear that we’d been nominated for The Scottish Wedding Awards by our amazing clients - it was certainly a happy dance around the studio kind of time! ♥️

Did we think we could win? We certainly hoped so! I’m pretty competitive, it seems!

So, we emailed our past clients and posted about it here, booked our hotel and a pet sitter and bought a sparkly dress.

Fast forward to the night of the event . . . we checked in to our (wrong) hotel - how many Hiltons are there in Glasgow?? - put on our dressy up stuff and headed up to the (right) Hilton for the awards ceremony & meal.

Then we got nervous!

What if we won?

Would we need to give a speech?

Eek!

Then . . . .

WE WON!!!! ⭐️

And, yes, we did have to give a speech - Richard did a marvellous job of it! ♥️

There was a collective ‘awwww’ when he said that everyone in the room were winners as the wedding industry has been a tough old place to be for the last few years.

And he’s so right - it has been and that’s why winning this award has meant so much to us and we are hugely grateful to for organising such a beautiful event and keeping us right about how it all worked.

Rowallan Castle Weddings - where history and beauty unite. ♥️

”Richard produced all the stationery for our wedding, from save the dates and invitations, to on the day place cards, seating plans, menus etc., right the way through to thank you cards.

Everything was created to our exact specifications and Richard absolutely nailed the brief, with us only ever having to tweak his proofs at most.

Everything was packaged really well so that nothing was bent or damaged, and all of the pieces were very high quality in terms of the card etc. used.

We even went back to Richard after the wedding to order some notecards that we could use going forwards for correspondence, with the same foil embossed monogram that we had used throughout our wedding stationery set.”

“Top contenders get shortlisted in the 11th Scottish Wedding Awards 2024

Oceanic Events is proud to announce the 11th Scottish Wedding Awards 2024.

These awards aim to celebrate the elite wedding specialists and businesses that continuously create magical moments that turn into lasting memories.

They aim to recognise and reward those within the wedding industry that work towards making the big day as perfect as possible.

‌Com Bossa Luxury Wedding Stationery is one of the finalists in the Stationery Supplier of the Year category. Suzanne and Richard will find out if they will be crowned winner and take the trophy home at an elegant ceremony that will take place on March 6th, 2024, at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow.

‌“You made my Mum cry!” - not everyone wants this as a review from a client but in this case it was tears of joy from the Mother of a bride on first seeing her daughter’s wedding invitations. It pretty much sums up why we love doing what we do.

‌When we found out our amazing clients had nominated us for Stationery Supplier of the Year at the 11th Annual Scottish Wedding Awards we welled up a bit too!

Wow! What a start we’ve had to 2024! So grateful to all of you beautiful couples who have already booked in for this year ❤️

Today, we blocked out time for our business growth strategy - so excited about all that is to come.

Our business already has a strong ethical core, 🌿 and this won’t change as it’s fundamentally who we are. We have been thinking of the ways that we can add in even more for you, our clients . . . we know that there can be so many questions during the wedding planning journey and we want to be there to help you answer them.

We already have a free e-book to answer the most commonly asked questions on wedding stationery & we’re now working on a fully interactive guide to help you plan just exactly what you say on your stationery.

We’ll soon be launching a new service in combination with The Curious Wolf to help with all of your wedding speech & vow writing needs - this has been very popular when mentioned at recent wedding open days!
