Decided to go here. Did not disappoint, the castle is part ruins but has a fascinating history. With lots of great artefacts to see. We had a good time walking around the castle the view from the top battlements was superb. I had a go of archery in the court yard, then we had a nice lunch in the tea room, walked the gardens and had fun in the maze. But my favourite bit was the falconers display. Flying past my ears at great speed a falcon. Brilliant! A special mention to the falconer a young lady in glasses who also appeared to do every other job in the castle. Knowledgeable about birds of prey, and a very pleasant disposition, chatting away to all my questions. The castle are lucky to have such a great member of staff. 5 stars."
