Welcome to my newest curve crew member, danielle, who travelled all the way from Scotland to visit. When she 1st came down to see me she was just wanting to get an idea of what she would like, we had a fab time on her appointment and I told her i loved scotland as we have family there and i also mentioned my love for the scottish cakes 🤣after she left she told me she couldnt stop thinking about one of the dresses she had tried with me. She left a beautiful review, detailing how much her and her mum had enjoyed their experience at my place 🥰 fast forward a few weeks and i got an inbox asking if she could do a revist with me. Today she arrived at my door carrying 2 boxes filled with my fave scottish cakes, thanks soooo much for travelling all these miles to me and for the cake delivery… there were smiles all round when i got home this evening 🤗😘🫶🏼

When it comes to who you bring with you, lets just say its best to bring those who know you best! And i love nothing more than when im honoured to welcome not just the mums, but the dads too!!! I’ve recently seen an increase in dad’s visiting the boutique and its so lovely to share these special moments with you! I think they love getting to see behind the scenes of what happens in a bridal shop and I find it highly amusing when they pick up some of the embellished dresses and are like “wow” there so heavy, yep guys you don’t understand sometimes the lengths we go to, for that perfect look- some of the dresses can give you a full on work out on the day if they are adorned with crystal and sequin and for me lifting them on and off the brides on a try on session gives my arms the strength of a hairdresser in the midst of her crimbo rush 🤣 but the point of this post is to let you all know that your dads are more than welcome to come with you and sometimes its good to give them a prep session before your big day so emotionally they are ready to see you in all your finery so theres less tears just before your ready to leave to get married… this is a tip 101 to save my brides eye makeup 😜

What would you say if i told you we could do anything you wanted?There are things that i will do with the construction in my dresses that will give my girl everything she wants. I let you change what ever you want. Like if a dress is too low i can raise the back to give you more coverage. If you have a short torso i can reduce the depth of the bodice. If you have folds or creases in your biceps that you dont like we can do lace placement to cover them. If you have permanent dips in your shoulders we can widen the straps. If you have a small bust and a wider back i wont order your dress via a bust size i will work with the designers to grade the pattern and merge two dress sizes to give you the best fit. If your top heavy on your bust line i can order additional boning to the internal of the bodice and the dresses also come with a built in bra. If you want to change the neckline i can do it. If you want a sleeve we can experiment with different types as all my sleeves are detachable. And colours… you can choose… you see thats the beauty of my place its all about what you want and giving you all the options for you to experiment and make the look exactly your own🫶🏼

Lets talk bridal shoes… you will be in them all day so be sure to pick a comfy pair! Its no good saying oh ill wear heels for the ceremony then swap to flats coz ultimately by doing that you will drop the hemline of your dress by an inch or 3 and then you will end up holding up your dress when you walk like little bow peep- not a good look. Id have to say my go to are coz the price point and designs are fab and for a one time wear there good value for money and if im honest no one sees your shoes any way… fave brands for wide fit are quiz,asos and paradox London and if u sign up for quiz emails u get an extra 10% off the sale price!!! Im extremely proud of being a curvy girl… and extremely proud of the ethos of my shop… no fu***ng diets or shrinking yourself to feel and look beautiful in my dresses, you see as a fellow curvy girl my weight fluctuates especially round crimbo, there is no way im going to miss joining my family and friends enjoying ourselves with a few (well a s**t load) of baileys!! Hey girls just a quick update on appointments:
I operate on appointments only as I can only see one bride at a time, this means you get the whole boutique to yourself for just you and your family and friends you get access to ALL of the dresses on your time with me and you get a Prosecco reception. I spend 2 hours with you and offer different ways for you to shop, I can guide you if you want a styling session or you have the option to just jump right in yourself. I also discuss fit with you in DETAIL as this is the most important part. To get a feel of what you can expect it’s good to go and have a read of the reviews for what other brides have experienced. You will notice I don’t have all the gowns listed on my website for 2 reasons, 1. Some of the designs are exclusive to the shop so I don’t have marketing images to show you as I have to build them as we go (I’ll be uploading some newness over the next couple of weeks and also because I like for you to be able to see and feel them irl as sometimes the beauty of them just doesn’t show on a picture…if you would like to have a chat prior to your appointment I do offer a FaceTime consultation if your a bride who’s feeling a little nervous before her visit

Lets talk dress size comparison on the SAME BODY SHAPE (same dress just in different colour and the main difference is the size, the left a size 22 the right is a size 16) the dress on the right is 3 sizes too small for my body shape, look how the bust doesnt sit right, look how ive got spillage by my underarm , look how it bulges around my waist, it digs in at my hip and the back well its a mess, tbh if i was a bride trying this dress id be ruling out this style and be saying it doesnt suit my body shape… but then look at the dress on the left its a better fit, the bust looks beautiful the waist and hip look flawless as the fabric glides over my curves and the back sits in the correct position…. And knocking inches off WITHOUT A SINGLE DIET discussed or undertaken. You see trying on dresses that are far too small can put a bride off a style (like the jeans thing mentioned previously) and is not a true reflection of how that style will look, by trying on dresses nearer to your size can show off exactly how beautiful they can be on your own individual shape, sooo if your a curvy bride who doesnt fancy being wrapped like a beef roasting joint like i am on the right you know what to do, come grab a bargain with me on my black friday event (limited appointments remaining)

Sooo when it comes to bras its a bit of a grey area, some say they dont want to wear one and thats fine, but when my girls who have larger bust sizes tell me “ive been told i dont need to wear a bra” i often have a discussion with them and let them make their own decision… if your a size 42H lets say, your bust is going to be quite heavy and a steel corset will hold your bust up for quite a number of hours, but with a xorset constructed of plastic bonning which is what a wedding dress consists of it wont hold the same, so my advice is to give your corset as much help as you can and i ALWAYS recommend the DANA SCULPTRESS STRAPLESS BRA its a game changer with its full bust cups and extra wide band it provides excellent support and goes up to a size 46J. When it comes to bras we can all struggle as our busts are different shapes and some of us have wide backs so i have a hack, say you buy a 40c and the back is too tight but then you order a 42c and you find the cups a bit big… go with the smaller size 40c and just add bra extenders (found on amazon) that way you get the perfect fit!
