Concert announcement 💫 (lietuvių kalba žemiau)

🇬🇧:

On the 20th of September, marking the special weekend of autumn equinox, Bex Burch will make a comeback on Shedding Histories stage to perform in Lithuania, at Vilnius Composers’ Union house. This time - in duo with Laurel Pardue!

Bex Burch - a percussionist and composer, who released her debut solo album ‘There is only love & fear’ via Chicago avant-garde label and named The Guardian’s Contemporary Album of the Month.

In her universe of sounds, which Bex names ‘messy minimalism’, various handmade instruments, gongs, pipes & chimes orbit around the all-connecting wooden xylophone.

Bex’s web of collaborations involve a considerable number of musicians from London’s contemporary Jazz scene, such as Sarathy Korwar, Tamar Osbourne and Ruth Goller.

We’re back for a very special summer party on August 9th with wonderful guests and at 🍉🍉

Bushbby is well known for her high energy and highly danceable sets infusing Afro-Latin and Caribbean grooves. Paying homage to her Colombian roots and love of Latin music, Bushbby will be treating us to a very special vinyl only set exploring records picked up from her recent travels. Expect a fusion of cumbia, salsa rhythms and the fiercest champeta sounds.

Also joining us will be seasoned digger Frederika who has built a reputation through her eclectic musical explorations on platforms such as NTS and Analogue Journal. Always driven by percussive and danceable rhythms, Frederika will traverse sounds from across the globe to get the party moving.

We are very very excited to announce that our first event of 2024 will feature the incredible Bex Burch performing live at the intimate SJQ on Sunday March 3rd 🌝

Last year Bex released one of our favourite albums of the year entitled “There Is Only Love And Fear” on International Anthem , and since then we knew we had to collaborate to bring her sounds to the Shedding Histories crowd. Delving into live music alongside DJ sets has long been a goal of ours so we’re really excited for this next step!

We’re back doing our thing next Saturday (20th) at for one of their very special FREE January parties 🌝

January is a tricky financial month for everybody so is putting on a whole month of free parties so that all can enjoy, and we are delighted to have been invited to play ALL NIGHT LONG on the 20th 🌱

Join us for jazz, funk, dub and psychedelic grooves from across the spectrum. 8pm-2am 🌛

As we wrap up the year, we wanted to say a little thank you to everyone who has come along and supported our events this year. It’s been amazing to see how this small project has developed and grown throughout the year 🌱🌝

Big love to all the venues and DJs who have brought their own special energy to each event across the year. Extra thanks as always goes to our home venue Grow, Hackney , who put on 7 events with us this year, all of which contained their own particular magic ✨

We’re already planning some exciting and new things for next year, but for now we rest until the new year 🌝🌚

Sway Of The Verses is a unique selector specialising in Hindustani music and, more broadly, sounds emerging from the Indian and Pakistani diaspora. Expect to hear anything from classic ragas to spiritual jazz to dance music infused rhythms.

Also guesting on the lineup is Shedding Histories family .a.z.z.m.n who always brings amazing grooves from across the spectrum from jazz funk to afrobeat sounds🌛

It’s been a while since we’ve had one of our laidback and cosy Sunday sessions so we can’t wait for this one… come down to for some great music, company, food and drinks 🌝🌝

Shedding Histories is coming to the seaside!! 🏖️🎄

On the 2nd of December we’re finally making the trip down to Margate for a very special night at the institution which is 🚀

After a beautiful night closing with the epic , we felt like we needed to do it all over again… and for longer!!! So join us for an extra special b2b2b 🌝

Also joining us on the lineup is the brilliant Margate DJ and selector Josh Steeples aka Sports Roll, who will be bringing some gorgeous sounds from across the spectrum!!

We are delighted to announce that we will be back at on Friday October 13th to celebrate under the harvest moon 🌝🍂🌚

We are thrilled that we will be joined by amazing guest DJs and selectors and .sofi for the night, who will both bring their beautifully unique blend of underground sounds from across the globe.

Norsicaa is a DJ known for her eclectic mix of sounds traversing multiple genres and places through her shows on Worldwide FM and Soho Radio. As the label manager of the highly-respected Soundway Records she has overseen the releases and reissues of some of the best-known global music records of the past decade, so watching her bring this knowledge to the dancefloor will be something quite special.

Joining Norsicaa on the line-up will be the always exciting Cosmo Sofi who is a London based DJ from Uruguay. Sofi has been digging and DJing for half of her lifetime with a passion and curiosity for music of the world. This has led her to dig the less-heard of every genre making her DJ sets a unique and spiritual journey across many sounds from different times and places. Her monthly radio show Spectrums on Worldwide FM has gained her recognition and respect of the heads in the know and she's been sharing the stage with legendary DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Secretsundaze, Joe Claussell, Soichi Terada, Colleen Cosmo Murphy, Coco Maria, Bradley Zero, Luke Una, Reiner Truby and many more.

We’ll be closing the festival on Sunday night with some high-energy grooves from all over the place. We’re delighted to be joined by guest selector Vandorta for an extended b2b2b from 12:30-2:30. Hopefully see you on the dance floor 🌚

If you don’t already know, Smugglers is a very very special festival with a beautiful ethos and always amazing music, so it is a real pleasure to be playing there this year ❤️❤️

As well as the art, we will also have some books from .uk for sale AND 10% of all bar sales will go towards fundraiser! So make sure to eat and drink well 💙💛

We are back on the 25th of June at for a special listening session & an art sale! It is with an aim to raise funds to alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the flooding of Kherson, Ukraine.

For this event we're teaming up with .uk - a Ukrainain solidarity collective fundraising for grass-roots initatives which are quick to provide aid in local Ukrainian regions 💛💙

We'll be selling prints, t-shirts & other artwork by various makers, about which we'll announce more information soon 🍀

Sonic stories this time will be accompanied by two exciting guests: , a resident of , and Am, who has been doing a monthly appearance on . Plus, expect sets from residents & .

So join us for a deep listening session after a day's heat around the festivity of summer solstice!
