Team Lycett are thrilled to be partnering with many of our industry friends for this years iconic Summer Soirée and with the exhibition in full flow, what could be more iconic than vast decorations of Casa Blanca Lilies and White Phalaenopsis - a staple for all florists in the late 80’s & on into the ‘90’s! And zoom in to enjoy the Pinstripes Plinths - a tiny tribute to Ms Campbell and her iconic Sharp Suits

I first came to work in London as a Florist in the late ‘80’s and the smell of Casa Blanca Lilies still takes me straight back to those halcyon days! Team Lycett are excited to be recreating some late Eighties and Early Nineties decor this week! And Lycett Towers smells AMAZING!

Team Lycett have had a busy few weeks working on events for some special and confidential clients, within unique and challenging venues. On each occasion, the flowers have been be abundant, beautiful and bespoke. My INCREDIBLE Team Lycett have made miracles happen daily for weeks and I am SO lucky to have them turn client dreams into dazzling blooming reality.
Next week I’m heading overseas to work alongside a favourite flower friend and client as we plot and plan future
Today I’ve been able to spend at home, where these perfect Pinks gathered from the garden - the ever brilliant “Doris” - are adding a spot of scent and colour to my desk. Pure Joy!

Boxes and bags of beautiful blooms being collected by the tireless Toby, from - these post party flowers will be carefully dried and transformed into natural, biodegradable Confetti, sold to support Cancer charities. Already they have donated £4,500.00 as well as saving so many flowers from being wasted!
Please give them a follow, and remember them next time you wish to buy some confetti or donate some post-party flowers.

Desperately Seeking Dahlias?!!
I for one cannot wait for mine to start blooming again! They are a total treat to grow and especially to arrange!
If you fancy a day immersed in within one of the most magical settings ever, why not join me and at Perch Hill on Thursday 26th September 2024 where my horticultural heroine and I will be chatting about my work, my favourite flowers and the joys of working with stems in a way. We will all wander around Perch Hill and I will be busy with my scissors snaffling stems and selecting all the brightest and biggest, best blooms! You may need to distract Sarah as I can be greedy!
After what will be a luscious lunch using ingredients gathered from the garden, we will settle in for an afternoon of amazing arranging - and I will share my hints and tips for conditioning foliage and flowers to ensure they last as long as possible, as I create some dahlia-filled decorations in a sustainable style.

SPECTACULAR SWEET PEAS! Grown in the West of the Isle Of Wight an area I holidayed in as a child!
Just look how magnificent they are! Grown by and expert
And this delicious display is fragrancing The Great Pavilion until Saturday! AND - there are seeds available to purchase! And Yes! I did buy some - probably too many but there is always someone who will be happy to have a few spare seedlings!!
They will be safely stored in an airtight jar in the fridge until the Spring!

The stunning Streptocarpus - grown by the brilliant and looking just magnificent
I adore these houseplants - they are a source of constant colour! But I’m RUBBISH at looking after them!
But I don’t and won’t let that stop me from ordering a few more!
The UK has an amazing array of specialist nurseries and growers, many of whom are exhibiting within The Great Pavilion and all of whom work hard to grow perfect plants to add colour, joy and happiness to our lives. It is always good to support them - another great excuse to place another order!!

Today was a soggy but productive day in the garden! Tulips Out, Dahlias In, along with Broad Beans, Sugarsnap Peas and lots of Salad Leaves sown! So Slug Patrol starts in ernest tonight!
And the most exciting aspect is now I am able to make notes and reminders, not down thoughts and observations in the BEAUTIFUL Gardening Journal. A new addition to their spectacular suites of stationery, each Gardening Journal contains a Calendar, Garden Notes, Jottings, Contacts and Schemes. Each has a glorious green grosgrain ribbon so I’m able to go straight to the section I want! And all brilliantly bound in one bold and beautiful book!! And what a wonderful archive it will become too!
Available now as part of their newly launched Gardening Collection I was fortunate to receive mine as a gift!

A perfect pot of Lily Of The Valley!
In France, it is traditional to give a bunch of these beautiful blooms on 1st May since King Charles IX was presented with some in the 1560’s.
Now known in France as La Fête du Muguet - with our own King Charles III a fan of stems, perhaps it might take off here?!!

I looked up from my desk 10 minutes ago and looked out at the garden where the tulips in the evening light were almost luminous!
I am always so reluctant to cut them as they last for almost a month growing in the garden, but as the weather warms up their days are numbered, so I have snaffled a few of the most ridiculous and brilliant, the bold and bonkers ones to enjoy indoors.
Literally a bottle of utter beauty!
Note To Self - and I say it every year! PLANT TWICE AS MANY IN THE AUTUMN!!!

The joy of creating these decorations using such bold, bright blooms for the wedding celebrations of the spectacular .bella was a total pleasure. The Bride was wearing a gorgeous gown just as bold and beautiful and had even stitched herself and her Dashing Groom into their napkins adding the finishing flourish!
You have to love colour!
