After years of cancellations and planning, they kicked it off a few weeks ago with the nearest and dearest in Edinburgh and this past weekend they finally got their party and what a day it was!
Successfully converting their stunning garden into a wedding reception with a full on bar, singer and smoke machine 😂

England and Wales today joins Scotland & Northern Ireland in reopening to more than 30-person weddings for the first time in 455 days!
Congratulations to all of my fellow suppliers for getting this far. Today we obviously wished for a different kind of reopening, and we may not be exactly where we wanted BUT this is a huge step to returning.
I want to acknowledge the support couples have given me and other suppliers throughout the last 455 days! We have done this together and you stuck with us, so thank you.
I also want to that What About Weddings for pushing every single day for our industry, you guys have done us proud 🙏
To those getting married over the next month, just know that for the last 455 days of photographing small “covid” weddings, they were some of the most special in my career, and yours will be too.
We soon will see that number change as we fully return, I just know it 🤞

Let's face that elephant in the room
Its a difficult time for us all right now. The worry over what might happen is high and it's hard to talk about the future. I'm not going to ignore the elephant in the room, so let's discuss Covid-19 and what it means for wedding planning and just for life in general.
You know the deal from the government they need it to spread a little more before going to lockdown and when they do? Things may drastically change, and that's when we need a plan.
Personally, I am trying my hardest to stay away from public spaces. We, the younguns(ish) probably won't have any serious effects from it but I don't want the responsibility of passing it on to someone who is high-risk. I am being cautious and I think until we know more then that's all we can do.
So, what about weddings? A lot of people have asked me for advice and I want to talk honestly about my plan.
If the government went to lockdown then they would need a contingency plan to support businesses, we do hope that they do everything they can to keep us self-employed workers afloat but who knows right now?
And so if lockdown went ahead then that *might* mean that you would need to change your wedding date. Which is an awful think to think about, but it is something that we may all (wedding suppliers and clients) need to face up to right now.
So, let's focus on actions. I can't tell you what to do, but I can advise on what I would do.
The first action is spend the day calling your suppliers and asking them about their plan, see if they're happy to change your date (if we go to lockdown). Whatever the response it will give you some confidence in your wedding and now you can make an action plan.
Now, I am one of those suppliers. So if we went to lockdown I am changing my clients date with no charge and I'll also be helping them find a new venue if they're stuck there too. I'd be happy to do the same for anyone who isn't my client too.
