For a favourite wedding reading by Seamus Heaney: Scaffolding
Masons, when they start upon a building,
Are careful to test out the scaffolding;
Make sure that planks won’t slip at busy points,
Secure all ladders, tighten bolted joints.
And yet all this comes down when the job’s done
Showing off walls of sure and solid stone.
So if, my dear, there sometimes seem to be
Old bridges breaking between you and me
Never fear. We may let the scaffolds fall
Confident that we have built our wall.

“We had the pleasure of having Rosalie conduct our ceremony for our wedding, which was everything we wanted and more - funny, moving, serious and just overall so very beautiful.”

A few words of an amazing testimonial written by and Kit who had the wedding of their dreams earlier this year at
They had do many ideas on how to blend their Chinese and German heritages and with their generous input it was an incredible joy to craft and deliver their bilingual wedding ceremony which included, amongst others, a surprise quiz, personal vows, a ring blessing by their guests, some lovely readings and 13-language ribbon ritual!

New blogpost: How to infuse your modern fusion wedding with personal touches.
At their Jewish-Filipino wedding, Becca and Steve used the bride’s father’s prayer shawl for the veil ceremony. It was an emotional tribute to Becca’s father as well as a unique way to blend their heritages.
Curious to learn more and read other stories of how couples have honoured their unique heritages?
Here are five tips, check out the blogpost for more inspiration and examples ( )
💕 Tell your love story, and include fun and remarkable things you’ve learned about each other’s culture!
💕 Include cultural or religious traditions that have meaning to you.
💕 Customise your vows. If you speak different languages you can even try to express your love in your partners’ mother tongue. Now that is love!!
💕 Include family and friends in readings and rituals.
💕 Personalise the ceremony space to create a backdrop that reflects your heritages or add special touches that are unique to you.
Curious to know how your unique story and heritages can be fused into a beautiful and memorable ceremony? Get in touch!

A glorious thread of poems by q***r women just popped up on my feed. Thank you for this treat!
Check out today’s story for the full post, here is one of them by a favourite poet of mine
I know someone who kisses the way
a flower opens, but more rapidly.
Flowers are sweet. They have
short, beatific lives. They offer
much pleasure. There is
nothing in the world that can be said
against them.
Sad, isn’t it, that all they can kiss
is the air.
Yes, yes! We are the lucky ones.

Wedding venue inspiration!
Becky and Hussain dreamt of getting married on a tropical beach but when that didn’t work out they chose a cinema - with the beach projected on screen! 🏝️
Remember: with a celebrant-led wedding you can have your ceremony anywhere.

Performance and Ritual.
A few days ago the wonderful posted a thought on her Instagram feed that turned my celebrant brain on.
As a former opera singer, Nat knows everything about performance and if you check out her feed, you immediately see that she has the perfect skills and energy to engage an audience and put on a show. Her thought was about the difference between performance and ritual and the implications for the role of a celebrant. She used the term ‘heightened behaviour’, which I think is spot on.
As celebrants we are centre stage together with the couple and we use performance skills to tell the couple’s story in all its glory, touch the hearts and minds of the audience, conduct symbolic rituals and bring in the right energy.
At the same time, it’s never about us. We are mere enablers of the ritual that’s happening and it’s through our role that we make the couple shine in the transformational act of getting married. It’s a delicate balance that requires both expression and stillness, control and letting go, being visible and disappear at the right moments and continuously tuning in to what is required in the moment.
Ceremony requires conscientious design, crafting and planning but for ritual to happen we need to surrender to the unplanned and the unknown as the magic unfolds.

Smiles all around at this fun-packed fusion wedding earlier this month at .
Working with and was such a joy as they had countless creative (and some hilarious) ideas on how to celebrate their love in a way that truly reflected them. Think flowergirls arriving in a remote control car, the Chinese dubble happiness sign as their ceremony backdrop, a quiz as part of their story together, Filipino rituals, a volleyball guard of honour, a wedding cake smash and more!
Thanks for capturing this moment 😀

I see shades of you in shades of blue
From ocean dark to palest sky
The troubled hint beneath the surface
The stilled tongue quiet to avoid a lie
Mornings first are the lightest blue
Watercolor soft and sweet surrender
How you wake slower than I do
But when you wake you’re often tender
Later mornings when we emerge
Your color’s brighter, smooth and bold
We sip coffee and plan the day
A simple memory I keep to hold
And later still your mood is shifting
Ever changing like the sea
Passion strong to quiet moments
You’re every shade of blue to me
- Crystal Jackson
Wonderful bilingual ceremony today at the ever enchanting for a couple whose favourite colour is blue.

Still in quiet awe of this intimate Japanese wedding earlier this month at
It’s so lovely to learn about wedding traditions from across the globe. Instead of exchanging a kiss, the couple did an oath handshake. They also read letters to their parents in Japanese.
The ceremony was in English but they’d asked me to say their vows in Japanese! They’d prepared Japanese translations of the script so everyone could follow what was happening.
A delight to work with this beautiful couple, the team at Fitzrovia Chapel, and .

Hello! Checking out the staircase at where Becca and Steve got married last December in a fabulous fusion ceremony.
Did you know that on the day I always arrive early to check out the space, chat with other suppliers (such as the awesome here) and meet you and anyone else who has a role in the ceremony to discuss any last minute questions? It helps me not only to get all the logistics right but also to tune into the energy of the space and get mentally ready for the big gig!

‘Marry your best friend’ by N’tima
Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly. Really, truly find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with. Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with. The kind of laughs that make your belly ache, and your nose snort. The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important. Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them. Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry, too. Despair will come. Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times. Most importantly, marry the one that makes passion, love, and madness combine and course through you. A love that will never dilute - even when the waters get deep, and dark.
- N’tima

Well that is a lovely surprise! Proud to be a winner of the wedding awards second time in a row! 💃🏽 🎉🏆
Over the last few years I’ve been focusing on adventurous, multicultural couples whose love travels places. I enjoy blending identities, cultures, languages and heritages into an engaging ceremony that is an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Each and every couple I’ve met has been amazing and I feel so privileged to have helped them bring their unique story to life.
This award is based on reviews written by couples I’ve worked with. It means the world that so many took the effort to write kind words about me and my wedding services.
Thank you all, you’re the best! 🤩

On this special day all about love, in solidarity with Palestine and fellow members of the community I’m sharing this love poem by Palestinian poet Fadwa Tuqan.
It’s not only a beautiful song about that mind blowing experience when you find your special person, but also a reminder that love is not defined by anything but the mere existence of people who are answering to its radiant call.
Let’s use our capacity to love to change this world for the better.
Free Palestine. Ceasefire now. For the sake of love, peace and humanity.
Art work by Devyn Mañibo
Existence – by Fadwa Tuqan:
In solitary life, I was a lost question;
In the encompassing darkness,
my answer was concealed.
You were a bright new star
radiating light from the darkness of the unknown,
revealed by fate.
The other stars rotated around you
—once, twice —
until it came to me,
your unique radiance.
Then the bleak blackness broke
And in the matching tremors
of our two hands
I found my missing answer.
Oh you! Oh you intimate, yet distant!
Don’t you remember the coalescence
Of your spirit in flames?
Of my universe with yours?
Of the two poets?
Despite our great distance,
Existence unites us – Existence!
(Born in 1917 in Nablus, West Bank, Fadwa Tuqan was one of the most influential poets of her time. She dedicated her work to fight the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the hardship sustained by her people).

Congratulations to M&M who locked in the luckiest day of the year for their wedding ceremony! I can’t wait to conduct their special day which will be a blend of Chinese and Filipino wedding traditions.
I love using traditional elements in wedding ceremonies in a playful a d personalised way. In Chinese culture, numbers and colours have a special meaning and I already have some ideas on how to weave these into my ceremony design:
8️⃣ In Chinese culture, number 8 is one of the luckiest numbers. It’s a symbol of wealth and prosperity. The more eights, the better and if we count 2x4 as eight as well, M&M are three times lucky on their wedding date!
🐉 According to the Chinese zodiac, 2024 is the year of the wood dragon. Wood represents vitality and creativity, as well as steadiness, honesty, generosity, and calmness. The dragon represents success, intelligence, and honour. The lunar year starts on 10th February and it is believed to foster growth and abundance. Isn’t this what we all wish for marriages to be?
💛💙❤️ The dragon’s colours are yellow/gold (wealth, solidity, stability) and blue (youth, freshness, vitality and wisdom). More generally, Chinese love red. Representing happiness, beauty, vitality, good luck, success and good fortune, red is a favourite colour at weddings. It’s probably meant to be that red, yellow and blue are my brand colours and as these are inspired by some of my favourite wedding attire, I already know what I will be wearing on the day!
Let’s fuse!

One of my favourite wedding venues ever! The Radíc Pavilion at Somerset.
It’s been a few years since James and Libby celebrated their love here, but that amazing day is still very vivid in my memory.
This quirky pavilion site beautifully in the art gallery’s landscape, offering lots of inspiration for a unique and imaginative ceremony.
Here’s a reminder that celebrant-led weddings can’t take place anywhere. You don’t need a licensed venue (although that’s fine too) - take your guests to the place that makes your heart dance.

Wishing you all sparks, love and light this festive season and beyond 💫
It’s a wrap!! On my way back from an amazing destination wedding in Schmilka, a tiny village in East Germany. It was for an Australian couple who have a special connection with this part of the world. They’d flown in their eight(!)) children, and were joined by some other cherished family members and friends.
They realised their dream, and it was so precious to be joining them on this adventure.

Bespoke wedding ceremonies with a cosmopolitan touch
Thanks for visiting my page!
I create warm, truthful and sensitive ceremonies with a cosmopolitan touch. By carefully listening to your personal story, your ideas for the day and your views on life, love and death, I create and deliver unique and memorable ceremonies for any life-event.
When I work with a couple on their wedding ceremony I take them on a journey, identifying what makes their relationship meaningful, what makes their love unique, and what it means for them to get married. This typically results in a warm, moving and heartfelt event, with room for both laughter and tears. I work closely with wedding planners, photographers, venue managers and other suppliers on the day to ensure a smooth and relaxed ceremony.
In addition to wedding ceremonies I do baby-namings, renewal-of-vows, funerals and any other tailor-made rituals for everyone who wishes to mark a transition in their life. In June 2018 I even conducted a ceremony for a building!
