Very excited to see that I’ve been featured in Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding Magazine. (August edition)
I absolutely loved designing with the dry flowers for this wedding shoot.
What I really like about dry flowers is that there is time to prepare in advance. No worrying about flowers wilting or getting the timing absolutely right of when to buy the flowers. There’s just less stress and yes, you can have seasonal grown roses and peonies in autumn and winter. This was a great shoot organised by

I have a wedding to prepare for using just dry flowers this month and looking forward to showing you what I’ve designed. More about that later this month.

Super cute wedding at the weekend using mine and locally grown flowers. The cake was decorated beautifully by Marie Makes - Custom Cakes
Her cakes are delicious. How do I know? Well I ordered some cakes for my daughter’s birthday and graduation party. Delicious.

Yes I’ve started peeling too. It feels so satisfying knowing you’ve seen your seedlings grow into strong plants. Each plant is so generous with the number of stems it produces.
I’ve now already started sowing for next year’s plants. It’s the perfect time.

I’ve been busy today making what I like to call very mini bouquets. I like drying different flowers and grasses to get different textures. Erysimum ‘Bowles Mauve’ was a surprise to me this year.
They take time and patience to make so it’s not just about pushing a few stems pushed together.
They are so versatile. They can be used as buttonholes, gift toppers or guest placements at a wedding. Of course you then have a little momento that will last a very long time.

So satisfying watching those roots grow. I like simple and uncomplicated things and that goes for gardening too. So what could be simpler than putting a stem of mint in water, watching for the roots to appear and then potting it up? Hey presto a free plant. # can do this with so many plants. Simples 😁

Just being outdoors surrounded by flowers lifts my mood straight away and makes me smile.
Do you find yourself smiling?

I really did enjoy putting together this little display at St Peter’s and Paul In Newport Pagnell. I was part of a big team decorating the church for the Platinum Jubilee. The brief was to choose an organisation of which the Queen is or has been a patron in the past. I chose the NSPCC. I wanted to create a mini garden that was like a ‘safe space ‘ for children. Somewhere they could relax and not feel threatened.

This morning I went to clear it all up and I was told that it received many compliments. It makes me feel very proud. I used no floral foam and everything was grown by me so zero air miles and very low carbon footprint. I felt I was creating my very own little bit of Chelsea flower show. 🤭

Up and down the land people are preparing to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. I know not everyone is a monarchist but I would bet that most people respect the Queen.
This is my little contribution that can be seen at St Peter’s and Paul In Newport Pagnell.
We all had to link our displays with one of the many societies that the Queen has been a patron of. I chose the NSPCC. My idea was to create a safe space for children when feeling troubled.

If you happen to be in NP this weekend why not pop along. All flowers and foliage grown by me.

This is Honesty still as green pods. I always cut some green and leave others to mature a little more so they’ll be easier to peel. They’re going to look great in bouquets.

Jubilee celebrations next weeks. If you’re wanting a jam jar of freshly grown flowers and foliage send me a message.
Regular jam jar £20
Taller jar £25 Free local delivery 🙏

Hope everyone is having a lovely sunny Friday ☀️
If you’d like to to gift a jam jar of fresh, seasonal flowers do get in touch.

With the recent strong winds , we ended up with split trunks in our very large conifer at the back of the garden. It had to be cut back. Many thanks to Complete Ground Management for doing a great job.
We kept all the shredded wood chip to make great paths at the allotment. We’re going to save so much time not having to mow the paths anymore. Special thanks goes to
Thanks son 👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻😁

So how do we get to these lovely lunaria stems that just simmer in the sun? Well it all starts with the seeds. I sow them in pots. I then transfer them to their final position. They get tucked into their beds about September October time so they can establish good roots before winter sets in. Steadily they start to grow as Spring approaches and the day lengthens.
They put on good growth, flowers emerge and then the seed pods begin to show. Peel away the outer layer and voilà you have the lovely shimmering stem you see in the first slide!
Isn’t nature wonderful?

I’ve planted so many more this year and I’ll be using many in a wedding in September for a bride that wants just beautiful dried flowers. 🌾

More tubers have arrived to plant and grow beautiful flowers that would be perfect for late summer and autumn weddings.
I had the pleasure of Meeting Andie at the Chelsea Flower Show last September and her passion for Dahlias is truly infectious.

If you’re thinking of an Autumn wedding and haven’t chosen your florist yet, give me a call and let’s have a chat. I offer a relaxed approach and I really don’t like formality. ☕️

Spring is definitely in the air. Longer daylight hours, and the promise of warmer days. Spring represents new beginnings and that’s exactly what’s been happening in the garden. I grow on a very small scale but that satisfies me. I’m happy knowing that what I sell has truly been grown on British soil and with no added pesticides. I do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint.

When I do the wedding flowers I try to incorporate as much as I can from what I grow. However, if I don’t have sufficient quantities I head for local flower farmers who do grow on a bigger scale or I will order from Cornish flower farms. I do not use imported flowers. I think it’s important to consider sustainability at every level and I’m ever mindful of playing my part.

Hope you all have a great Friday and a lovely weekend 💐
