Well, there you have it residents. There were ups, there were downs, there were bright ideas for the future and reputations sullied with dirt… We at The Daily Rag are not ashamed to say we are relieved that it’s finally over. After a weekend of mostly healthy debating, Area 404 took the win, taking control of Boomtown’s future last night. A vote for No Borders; in the mind, in the planet, and between dimensions, freedom to travel, expand and transcend, hurray!

The result saw mixed reactions on the ground; Despite representing these policies of equality, The Collector spoke only of the key he now holds – urging citizens to follow him. Many residents are also unnerved by recent controversies around The Collector’s potentially dangerous portal opening rituals, which are rumoured to risk the very fabric of reality itself.

Over the weekend, a group of residents questioned the voting process altogether: a protest rally organised by The Network swelled with unprecedented numbers. What we initially reported to be a small group appears to be much, much larger, with residents connecting underground over the course of the fair. Elen, who had not been seen for the duration of the election build-up, appeared at the rally to align with The Network; another blow for The Collector.

Can the Collector keep his head, and principles, with this newfound burden of power? Will Boomtown unite and accept The Collector’s leadership? And what exactly was the supernatural apparition that interrupted our Election celebrations last night? Is it possible we collectively imagined it…?
