The state of the hospitality industry has seen record numbers of closures. Over 23000 hospitality businesses have closed since the pandemic with only 12000 reopening, that means a net loss of 11000 establishments. Meanwhile both the Tories and Labour stood by and did nothing. It won't stop there because retail is still spiralling out of business with Ted Baker announcing all shops are too close for good. The questions the public need to ask is do they want to end up sitting indoors all the time with only the internet to utilise for commerce and thus risk total control by governments/authorities and being at the mercy of increasing cyber attacks now being used as a weapon by overseas foes, this is the Orwellian future where we. are slowly edging to, if we do not get a grip and get back to some of the more traditional modes of shopping and going out.
