Last week our Fresh Youth session was filled with the sound of music! We began our two weeks of music production and the young people had to create a track that represented them. You can listen to both Temi and Victory’s amazing compositions above. This workshop continues this week (Thursday 10th) so if your free between 3-5 and fancy making some tunes why not join us?!
Be sure to check out the rest of the Fresh Summer Programme on our website!

Look up!
The eight-sided dome above our first-floor landing was first installed by Edward Pauncefort, a Member of Parliament who called Lauderdale House home in the 1700s.
The original cupola was destroyed by a fire in 1963, but the lost dome was rebuilt thanks to fundraising efforts of the Lauderdale House Society when they took over the building in 1977.
The cupola was a crucial first step in the journey to open Lauderdale House as a space for our local community, and today it brings rays of sunshine into our cheery first floor gallery space!
Nikki Yeoh stopped by Lauderdale House on the weekend - see what she had to say about the venue...
Nikki will be playing with us next Thursday 12 May as part of our Jazz in the House series. This is her first solo concert of 2022, so don't miss out!

This week we are kicking off our Cabinet of Curiosities project for the second year in a row!
Designed and delivered by Artist Alison Lam and our Education & Outreach Officer, this art project is inspired by the collections of plants and artefacts of James Yates, a Victorian resident of Lauderdale House, and the natural environment of Waterlow Park.
Your donations are what allows us to deliver projects like these at local schools, so thank you so much! If you would like to support our education programme, you can find our donation page below:

At Lauderdale House, you will not just be greeted by one of our wonderful volunteers, but by a classic Greek tale!
Likely installed by James Yates, an expert in Ancient Greek and Roman art who lived in Lauderdale House from 1850 to 1871, the bas relief is a unique piece of Lauderdale House.
The plaster relief sculpture depicts Briseis, a Princess enslaved during the Trojan War, as she is taken from Achilles and handed to the leader of the Greek army, Agamemnon. This began a feud that lies at the heart of the Iliad, a poem written by Homer over 2800 years ago!
