So we have huff and Puff!… wood pigeon….so this little one has been a bit of a challenge. Wild birds are definitely more flighty… they don’t trust anyone… quite rightly so!. So he needed to be fed, I had a struggle right from the start with getting him to trust me… so after a week, I took him home with me!… It was so strange, it was like a switch had flipped! We are now best friends!❤️ He / she is a sweetheart!❤️

So excuse the lack of social media… it’s not that I am not busy, far from it…
Been flat out with work and my birds… such a busy time of year for sick birds this year… I’m run off my feet with birds brought in needing help. Apologies to people coming in and I have a bird in my hand feeding etc.. but needs must. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! Only one pair of hands! Kind words mean a lot when you have your hands full… and most understand now ### so thank you for your patience and understanding … it is truly appreciated from us all here xx
I am FULL at the moment and can’t take any more at the moment.
A bit of a sad week too… lost one of my babies due to bronchitis which wasn’t expected and a bit of a shock. Thank you to the lovely vet John who has been there this week…❤️ again heart felt thanks for helping with one of my own ###x

So Iggle and Piggle…. Last week in the house… almost weened… they are now part of the family. ❤️I do love these two❤️ they have been little gits!
Last week I did a release… yesterday he came back in after a week out! So I’m guessing freedom to comming home has won… tells me everything! Now I do everything I can to get these birds back to where they belong..in the wild.
I’m guessing this bird chooses me! I always give them a choice … now these two, as I’ve been with them for the last 6 weeks 24 hours a day… they have a choice… they are ringed to here. And obviously it’s taken a lot of time and care to take care of them . Proud pigeon momma x

So little Iggle and Piggle are now 5-6 weeks in, thought I would show you how beautiful they are turning out… I know people think they are ( vermin) that word will never come from here… but it’s down to humans irresponsibility’s in the end.
If I can get these little ones back in the wild I will, but unfortunately they have been with me from 4-5 days old… I’m mum! But these two beautiful birds will always be part of my Petals family ❤️

So this is Brian, affectionately named after a lovely homeless man from last week. I rescued him from a seagull trying to eat him… this time of year the seagulls are feeding babies themselves, so they will eat smaller things🫣 So this a small insight to what it takes to look after them. Thanks to the lovely vets across the rd from me in helping with another seagull attack, unfortunately that little one didn’t make it. I am going to have a small donation tin in the shop to help with small wildlife vet bills x

This weekend it was a quick pop in, Quick sort out of the strawberry bed. First of the new potatoes in ! Got a few strawberry plants in the shop this week, be warned weather a bit cold and harsh just yet to put in the ground..❤️
