Morning All
So unfortunately, our event didn’t go ahead last night. We went from a 2 day line up with 14 bands on it, to a 4 band night due to bands dropping out.
The event was still going ahead last night, having been setting up in the afternoon which took about an hour and half, collecting the equipment etc.
All the bands where in the venue throughout the afternoon and 2 of them went out to grab food which is fine, as it wasn’t due to start yet, but!
When the 2 bands came back, they were DENIED ENTRY from the same doorman who was in the venue with us all day! Because they didn’t have their ID on them. The 2 bands then had to drop out due to this, leaving it a 2 band event, which the venue had caused.
They then decided to SHUT DOWN our power and closed the event down after letting the first band Wipes set up all their gear again.
Filling the room with more security guards and not having the best communication in the world, no management would come and see us, it was done through Facebook message.
They never told us the BANDS were gonna be denied entry, just that it was a 18+ venue, as we have been using the back gate to load the the whole time. We had bands come from London, Rotherham and Hull to play an event we put on which the venue didn’t even advertise. We did all the advertising.
We are not totally innocent, we did get very stressed and maybe out of order towards a doorman or 2 (due to the circumstances) so we apologise for that.
We are so sorry to ECHO (East Coast Homeless Outreach) and to the Speed family for NOT being able to raise just a little bit of money for them.
THE SCENE IN LINCOLN was where the event was, and the event could not go ahead.
Once again, sorry to ECHO and The Speed Family Richard Speed Julie Speed And Kieran Speed
