Wedding flower season at NFF kicked off in May (with the exception of one April bride) and it’s been mega.

27 bouquets, 59 buttonholes and 61 buckets have been supplied already. Phew! There is certainly a lot of love out there for British flowers ✨

And I must post stuff because Insta is telling me off for being lax recently. So here’s a bit of the beginning of this week and a bit of last week!

May is a crazy month so posting to Insta hasn’t been a priority. It’s mega busy with seed sowing, pricking out, potting on and planting out. Watering also has to happen with the higher temps. And not least it’s probably the busiest month for wedding bookings.

But here’s a wee snapshot of some of the flowers from the past couple of weeks. Summer flowers are becoming more and more abundant and I’m sure regular photo spam will resume again shortly 🤩

FLORAL WORKSHOP ✨

I’m excited to announce a Floral Workshop in collaboration with Fen on Saturday 11th May at 10am at .

I will talk about growing seasonal, sustainable flowers and tips on how to start a cutting garden and Fen will guide you through simple techniques to create and present a luxury bouquet with a vase and gift box to take home.

The workshop will take place at The Seed Norfolk - a new and stylish event space at Creake Abbey in north Norfolk, where refreshments and a light brunch will be provided.

ATTENTION TULIP LOVERS 🌷

This is possibly the last week/end for tulips. They have popped very quickly and early this year.

There may be some late-comers but the bulk is ready now and once they’re over, that’s it for 2024.

So please come along and enjoy some locally grown tulips. They’re pretty epic and not what you will find at the supermarket ✨

The biggest hand-tied bouquet I ever did make ✨

In fact it was more ‘four pairs of hands-tied bouquet’ it was so big!

The scent of the Stock, Choisya blossom and delicate, rose-scented double tulips was insane. I wish I could bottle it 💛

Everything grown right here in north Norfolk and delivered just a few miles away to its north Norfolk recipient.

… is popping! This incredible, speciality tulip is available now at Norfolk Flower Farm and only for the next week or two. If you’d like to get your hands on a bunch please get in touch or drop by at the field. It gets more beautiful in time as its petals reflex and turn vintage in colour.

There are other double/peony tulip varieties coming into bloom and available now too, per the photos shown.

I did a flower thing 🌷

If you received my email newsletter last week you’ll know that I wasn’t doing Mother’s day flowers this year. But of course I was doing some for my own mother. And then some for a desperate soul that phoned yesterday. It was a joy to be handling beautiful treats from nature again, with everything from right here in my Norfolk plot.

They should be in flower from late March through till late April… the tulips will have started their part of the show then too.

And for those who say ‘I hate sunflowers’, perhaps you’re unaware of the incredible varieties available (see pics 3-5). They’re not all 8ft tall and gawdy yellow with massive flower heads 😊

I will be creating a limited number of natural luxury wreaths, made with lush foliage and embellished with nature’s gems. They will be entirely sustainable and compostable.

I will also be holding wreath-making workshops where you will learn how to make your own planet friendly piece to take home.
